Adidas Micoach for runners
Adidas recently launched Micoach in India. Unlike Iphone apps like Runkeeper (http://runkeeper.com/) and Garmin (https://buy.garmin.com/shop/shop.do?cID=142&pID=27335) which work on GPS based feeds, this uses a stride sensor to measure distance and has a whole host of contraptions to measure multiple parameters. Micoach has been designed specially keeping runners in mind and the only direct competition it faces is from Nike+ (http://nikerunning.nike.com/nikeos/p/nikeplus/en_IN/what_is_nike_plus)
Micoach has a lot of features which make it a useful aid for serious runners, especially its computer aided training (based on the workout chosen) to guide you to get the best out of your run. The Micoach Pacer retails at Rs.9000, it is available at most specialty Adidas stores.
The package includes - A heart rate monitor (which can easily be strapped onto your chest), stride sensor (to be strapped onto your shoe laces), the micoach device (which can be hooked to any MP3 player & also provides voice guidance during your run, based on the workout chosen).
Adidias has also created a microsite for Micoach - http://www.adidas.com/in/micoach/
