We are all set to witness greatness return to the screens as the producer confirms Hera Pheri 3 is in the process

Yes you have read it right. The iconic movie that made us burst into laughter is finally getting a sequel. Hera Pheri which had the iconic trio of Shyam (Sunil Shetty), Babu Rao (Paresh Rawal) and Raju (Akshay Kumar) will be witnessed by us again, and that means only one thing, memes and laughter all around. Fans had been waiting for this announcement for a while now since the trio was last seen in a movie in 2006 which was ‘Phir Hera Pheri’. This news was confirmed when the producer of the film Firoz Nadiadwala told Bollywood Hungama about the plans of the film and its progress.

This news broke out soon on all social media platforms and fans wanted more details regarding the movie and its cast.After hearing this news, Twitter looked to be thrilled and Tweeted their joy. Firoz Nadiadwala, the producer of the film, revealed that the talks of signing a new director to direct the sequel is on. He also told Bollywood hungama is that the cast would mostly remain the same which meant that the core cast of Paresh Rawal, Sunil Shetty and Akshay Kumar will remain the leads of the movie like they were in the first two movies that is ‘Hera Pheri’ and ‘Phir Hera Pheri’. Hera Pheri and Phir Hera Pheri were each released in 2000 and 2006. Both movies have amassed admirers over the years thanks to their excellent performances and funny scripts.

“You’ll get to see it very soon with the same star cast – Akshay Ji, Paresh bhai and Suniel Ji. The story is in place, and we are working on certain modalities. It’ll be made in the same way, retaining the innocence of the characters. We can’t take past achievements for granted. So, we have to be extra careful in terms of our content, story, screenplay, characters, mannerism, etc,” Mr. Nadiadwala said. This might be the right mentality by the producer as we have often seen with Bollywood, that the sequels of famous movies have not done well at the box office. The script of these movies are not well thought out and just having a star-cast doesn’t mean that it would be loved by the critics or the fans. Like Firoz Nadiadwala said, they need to be “extra-careful” with almost every aspect of the movie. They need to make sure the movie is not a flop show and they don’t have to rely on past success for the success of this film. The main reason why the Hera Pheri series was a huge success was because of the unpredictability and the humour which kept the fans engaged. Another reason why the humour from that movie is still remembered by fans on social media is because of the actors and the way in which they acted to the expectations of the character in a movie like Hera Pheri. 

People would do anything to see this trio in this iconic wear in the movie.
