Buy a Laptop Get Frustration For Free – Welcome To Hell by Dell

Purchasing Laptops from Dell Was Our Biggest Mistake. If You Are to go Out and About for Dell, Stop Before it’s Too Late!

Laptops have been an essential addition to our gadget stack for years now. Be it professional, personal, or just for leisure, your laptop will be there for you whenever you need it. Due to their superior processing power and quality of components, they are often priced higher than their counterparts. Generally designed as per your needs, different types of laptops are available in the market like Business laptops, personal laptops, gaming laptops, or browsing laptops. But somehow a major name in the game of technology has forgotten how is it like to sell a ‘laptop’. ‘Top’ in the name stands for top quality, Dell has reframed the term to ‘Lapworst’.

What Exactly Happened?

Be it your first, or be it your last, the joy and excitement of opening the brand-new packaging of a gadget is somewhat an eternal feeling. It’s the feeling of belief that you have invested in a reputed brand and the gadget is going to last an eternity. Unfortunately, for many and even for our own selves, this thing has turned into the feeling of regret – just because we choose Dell.

Firstly, talking about how our experience was, we ordered a total of 10 laptops from Dell just two months ago. From the first month itself, the hinges of 3 out of the 10 laptops gave up and the screen even popped out of the plastic body. Mind you, the laptops were never damaged or used in rough conditions. They were 24/7 in a stable and air-conditioned environment.

As we write this article, 1 more laptop gave up its hinges and lay loose on the table. These were just the laptops that went through severe body damage in the softest conditions possible.

An American computer company started in 1984, Dell has acquired a quite large share of the laptop business over the years.

Screen Issues – Arising Out of The Blue

As you can see in the image, there is a sign of screen burn and it seems like all of the body is about to give up. Is this what our expectations should be from Dell? Every brand is releasing laptops with better configurations and so much better quality, we solely went for Dell because of their reputation and the factor of ‘Trust’. Which was so much wrong to believe so. The so called HD display just gave up in a blimp, we guess Dell meant “Highly Degraded” while mentioning about it.

From the factory itself, we got a 1080p FHD display with 60Hz refresh rate. But as you can see, the byproduct of actually ‘using’ the laptop was a pale yellow patched display which is in a wide open plastic frame welcoming the external elements such as dust, water, or any other particle.

Boot looping and Loosing on Battery

The laptops left out of the 10 we purchased were fine – or we thought so. Some laptops started having boot loop issues. How does the laptop boot loop? It will get stuck on the Dell logo and not turn on until we force restart it by pressing the power button for 15-20 seconds. The screen would go black and we would have to compromise on our data which is as frustrating as a never ending nightmare.

Some even gave up on their batteries.  Battery life is something that sets desktops and non-mobile gadgets apart. If we didn’t want good battery life, why would we even go for laptops? With a 41KwH 3-cell battery we were getting 1 hour of screen on time. Even worse, sometimes it lasted only 40-45 minutes. Should we give you a round of applause, Dell?

“Innovation that stops at nothing.” Is the brand’s motivational line to go to. We’d rather modify a bit “Inconvenience that stops at nothing”.

Poor, Poorer, Poorest – Customer Service

The least that the brand can do is work on its Customer Services. Don’t even get us started there because they are just as bad as their products. We have registered multiple complaints out of which – just one was paid heed to – the rest went down the gutter. The executive was supposed to contact us on May 6th, 2022 but nothing was done per se. As you can see in the attached image that the complaint was not even closed after 5 days and the scheduled service never even took place. I guess we need to maintain a separate complaint book for Dell because before even calling for one problem, the other rises out of the grave.

“Innovation that stops at nothing.” Is the brand’s motivational line to go to. We’d rather modify a bit “Inconvenience that stops at nothing”, would be a perfect fit. Not just us, but even in their own Dell community, you can find hundreds of people like us that have regretted their decision of investing in such an irresponsible brand. Please, Dell, have some basic sense of doing business, your consumers are all you have and you can’t keep going like this. If you can’t improve the quality of your products, at least make your customer service a bit liable for delivering what you can’t – Promises.
