A Great Divide
For the first time in decades, the most expensive car may not be the fastest in the world, thanks to Swedish car maker, Koenigsegg.

This time, we are not going to write about a car that we have driven, but rather one that we would kill to test drive. We are talking about the new fastest car in the world, the Koenigsegg Jesko.
Bugatti has been in a constant war with a number of automotive companies for the accolade of making the fastest car in the world. However, none of them have posed as serious a challenge as Koenigsegg. Slowly, but persistently, they have been clawing their way up behind Bugatti, announcing throughout that they are coming for the crown. And now with the Jesko, they have officially arrived.

Straight off the bat, Koenigsegg has managed to reach a top speed of 300 mph or 482 kmph. What is surprising about the car is the fact that in terms of engine output, the Jesko is quite similar to the Chiron. The Jesko is powered by a twin turbocharged V8 engine, which on E85 ethanol churns out 1600 raging horses. This means that the ability to go 40 mph faster than the Bugatti stems from Jesko’s clever engineering and aerodynamic design. The designers at Koenigsegg have beautifully crafted the panels that give it the drag coefficiency of a sail fish.

As for the interior goes, it may appear sombre and toned down. However, the quilted alcantara seats and racing harnesses, coupled with the hexagonal steering, the G-metre, and the silver and black interior give it a very savage appearance. Never has insanity seemed so surgically precise and yet, so determined.

The Jesko may very well be crowned the undisputed king of speed as far as production cars are concerned. Perhaps it’s time to get our passports out and book tickets to Ängelholm to take the Jesko out for a spin.
