Access Girl: Aishwarya Sakhuja

What’s the sure shot way to make Aishwarya hit you? Ask her if she was named after Aishwarya Rai of course. But we at FHM are working on our self-preservation instincts. So, we decided to talk to her about bad movies. That she can recall Jaani Dushman scene by scene, itself was enough to make us do cartwheels. The fact that she’d pick butter chicken over salad everyday is just a sign from the big man upstairs.

Aishwarya came to Mumbai and was working with a entertainment and lifestyle channel when Zing spotted her. Since then, she has been having ‘fun everyday’ on the job being an anchor for the channel.

Has she ever been a model? “I have done a bit of modelling. But for the past three or four years, I have only been anchoring shows. And I enjoy it more, ANY DAY!” says the girl. “Modelling was good pocket money, but I never really enjoyed it.”

At the shoot, the self confessed filmi, sang soppy and long forgotten songs while we spent all our time trying hard not to stare, Aishwarya says she would love to work in movies. “But Yash Chopra isn’t waiting for me, you see,” she winks.

So, she tried the second best thing- acting in a YRF serial Rishtaa.com in which she played a small cameo. And now, she’s all set to enter tinseltown. And just like everybody else she would love to work with, “will it be a cliché if I said Shah Rukh Khan!”

She does a quick re-think, and adds, “I would also like Saif Ali Khan… actually all Khans would do except for KRK!”

So what’s her idea of the perfect date? “Lot’s of food,” she says. “I want lots of food, no loud music, and somebody with whom I don’t need to wear heels. I actually don’t mind even if the guy is not there. I will have a date with the food only,” she confesses.

Needless to say, her idea of the perfect man is one who feeds her great food; tragically the Chicken Teriyaki Sub we offered her didn’t count. Even then she feels the perfect man doesn’t exist. Sigh and imagine friendships have been broken on half-a-sub. But, it’s not us or the sub, she just loves Chinese better. “I love Five Spice (a restaurant in Mumbai). They have yum Chinese food and I love them for their quantity.” But how does she maintain her figure? Eating so much, does she never gain weight? “Well, I guess I have to thank my mum and dad for passing on their fabulous genes. I never gain weight,” confesses the girl. “I do exercise when I get time but not always.”

So what does she really love doing in her off hours? Action sports maybe? Can we take her scuba diving? “Should I really tell you what I like doing? I love sleeping. ALONE and in my own bed!” Sigh!
