Hi, Rubina! How good it is to back on TV?

It feels alive! I have realised that this is what I love to do, and I only do what I love. So, it’s really great to work again!

The photoshoot suggests that you love being in bed and near water. How did you like it?

Well, it was really good! Abhinav and I were out for our anniversary celebration. He has a great passion for photography. And I am happy that he finds me his muse! So, the pictures actually suggest that we were both busy doing what we love, and it got us amazing results… We just love to go with the flow!

We’ve heard that you are an interior designer as well. Would you help us make our office look cooler?

Yes, I am. And I would love to renovate your work place!

You are playing a transgender in your new show. Is it tough portraying the role?

Yes, it’s really tough! To portray a not-so-common character is a challenging task! The role was turned down by many of my contemporaries.

How did you prepare for it?

I had to give so many screen tests and sit in multiple number of meetings for the same character. And every time I did it, the scene demanded something new! In this whole process, I tried exploring the character and give it a new life.

Tell us more about yourself. Where did you grow up? How fun was your childhood?

I hail from the queen of hills, Shimla. I have been brought up in a joint family and being the eldest daughter, I was pampered and loved the most! Despite coming from a conservative background, my parents gave me full freedom to choose and experience life on my own terms.

What’s the most embarrassing moment you remember from your teenage?

Oh, don’t even ask! One of my school seniors pursued me for more than three years. He was so influential that all the boys in my class were scared to even talk to me because of him. After school I used to walk back to my home with few friends, and one day he just came out of nowhere to block my way (in a very filmy way). I was so embarrassed that out of my nervousness, I just slapped him. He still didn't give up though!

What is the best place for a guy to approach you?

Umm… the best place would be on the beach!

So, what’s your idea of a fun date?

Wow! A fun date! It should start with working out together and then cooking something together!

Could you describe your most memorable date for us?

We had gone out to camp near a lake. During the sunset, he pitched a tent, set up a place for two and we enjoyed seeing the sun setting over the lake with a glass of wine. And then we took a dip in the lake together. It was really romantic.

Has a girl ever hit on you? We would like to know the details…

Never! And it makes me feel good that I only attract men and not women.

Would you get drunk on a beach or read a book to take a break from work?

Get drunk on a beach. Definitely!

Are you a fan of pickup lines?

Only if it is a part of his sense of humour.

So, what’s the silliest pick up a guy has used to win your attention?

Umm… Once a guy came up to me and said, ‘My bed is Burger King, and you can have it your way.’

Do you have a secret tattoo? If not, do you wish to get inked?

I don’t believe in creating memories which late become permanent scars!

What’s the craziest place you ever made love at?

It was under open sky, near the lake!

What’s your favourite cuisine? What place would you recommend for it?

I enjoy Mexican food! My recommendation would surely be the place of its origin.

What’s that one thing you did in the past that you wish you could undo?

I have no regrets in life. I only have gratitude for the lessons that life had to teach me.

What quirky habit do you have?

I have this really weird habit of making funny faces during a serious conversations!

And what’s that one habit you’d like to get rid of?

Argh! I would really like to get rid of applying lip balm every 10 minutes.

If you had to change 2 things about yourself, what would they be?

One would be to procrastinate procrastination and then seriously executing the first.

If you could jump into a pool of something, what would it be?

Taking a dip in a pool of red velvet cheese cake. Oh, wow! It sounds so good!

How soon are we gonna see you on the big screen?

I am not sure how soon will it be, but it will happen one day for sure.
