For the Head Bangers
Bass enthusiasts have a whole new reason to rejoice in Skullcandy’s first attempt at Active Noise Cancellation. We investigate how it fares.

Staying true to the Skullcandy’s identity, the Venue is targeted towards the modern bass lovers, people who prefer, rock, metal and electronic music. That being said, if you are into other genres, like classical and vocal centric ones, you will not be disappointed by the Venue. It sits perfectly with most music and videos which have a more balanced sound, accentuating the dialogues and soft background noises just aptly. You can put these headphones on for those binge watching sessions and go on watching one season of your favourite show after another.
The Venue’s battery life and wireless capabilities are phenomenal. During our testing, we got upwards of 20 hours of battery life consistently. The official fact sheet states that connectivity is maintained even over 100 metres, which our testing found was true. In case you ever run the Venue out of juice, you have the option to hours of playback. All the cables as well as the headphones come in sturdy carrying box.

What disappointed us about the Venue is its Active Noise Cancellation capabilities. There is a persistent weird hissing noise and at times, the ANC simply falls flat on its face. The built quality leaves a lot to be desired as well. It isn’t flimsy per se, but for the price that you pay for the headphones, you should expect much better construction. The only saving grace for the Venue’s built quality is the generous foam padding on top of the headband and the memory foam ear cups, which will allow users to use these pairs hours at an end. FHM VERDICT At `18,500 there are much better ANC options available, with rock solid construction and a sound signature that suits everyone. It seems that Skullcandy is charging a premium for these headphones. For what exactly, we still haven’t been able to figure out. connect it to your phone or music player with the included auxiliary cable. Or else, you can charge it for 10 minutes, for another five
