To celebrate the 50 glorious years of the UAE for its culture and heritage, the Abu Dhabi based Etihad brings up a series ‘Hosting the World’ celebrating country’s fashion scene.

In the final episode of UAE’s golden jubilee celebrations, Etihad Airways, the national airlines of the country, launched the final video of its ‘Hosting the World’ campaign, celebrating 50 glorious years of the nation. The series by Etihad Airways has brought together, Emirati designer, Hessa AL Falasi and Indian Celebrity designer and global fashion icon, Manish Malhotra. 

Be it a girl or a guy, it is just impossible that you haven’t imagined yourself wearing those fancy chique lehengas or the classy sherwanis by one and only super famous, Manish Malhotra. The global stylist has now created an entirely new piece of clothing for UAE’s national airlines Etihad, in collaboration with Instagram’s most famous Emirati designer, Hessa Al Falasi, for the 50^th anniversary of the UAE.

To celebrate the 50 glorious years of the UAE for its culture and heritage, the Abu Dhabi based Etihad brings up a series ‘Hosting the World’ celebrating country’s fashion scene. The series has teamed up unique collaborations with the experts from the field of formula 1, music and racing and the International arena for special partnerships. This includes one of the most creative collaborations between Bollywood stylist Manish Malhotra and Emirati designer Hessa Al Falasi, and we just can’t get enough of looking at it.

In this collaboration, Etihad has authorized Al Falasi to be the host of the project, who not only specializes in modest wear with modern twist, inspired by her travel in the world and experiences of the past years. Manish Malhotra, who is always the first choice as a fashion designer of Bollywood’s ‘A’ listed celebrities, and our favorite too, visited UAE, at Al Falasi’s design studio to collaborate and create a special fashion piece for Etihad – The Abaya Saree. Together, the creative minds of these two fashion designers can be seen coming to a same crossroad of elegance, creating a fusion style of clothing which was ultimately a blend of Emirati Abaya which is a simple and loose robe-like dress, worn by some of the women in parts of muslim nations,  with the graceful Indian style saree, which is an unstitched garment that is draped around the waist . The new Abaya saree looks exactly like what it sounds. The basic black abaya is merged with a pallu, giving it a look of a saree with the addition of red color at the bottom, and a border in the French violet color giving a style statement to the outfit. 

In the video, launched by the Etihad, both the designers can be seen working together on the Abaya saree. Cutting, styling, matching and all the work done has been shown in the short clip. Etihad’s cabin crew is also seen being fitted for the new piece of clothing and then transforming from the Etihad’s cabin crew uniform into the ‘oh so gorgeous’, Abaya saree. 

As mentioned, brining together two fashion stylists, with completely different fashion sense, was a great idea by Etihad to create a new piece for fashion clothing which depicts the modesty and grace of UAE with chic and style.
