Rajni’s Portal Runs Without Internet
A website dedicated to superstar Rajnikanth that works only once you switch off the Internet – plus Twitter’s new rules to censor tweets.

Enna Rascala! Mind it! This is not one of those Rajni jokes that you’re bombarded with every now and then. This is for real. Dedicated to the ‘impossible is nothing’ life of superstar Rajnikanth, the portal needs Internet connectivity only when you type the website address, www.desimartini.com/allaboutrajni.htm. Once the homepage it loaded, the website prompts you to disconnect the Internet connection if you want to continue browsing the portal. If you don’t switch it off, it says, “Aiyyo, That was unexpected, to keep browsing the site switch off your Internet." On the portal, you can read interesting bits of information about the living legend. So how does the portal works? Once you load the home page, the website downloads the complete file in a temporary folder on to your system. Once the download is complete, it prompts you to disconnect Internet. Another program keeps a tab on Internet connection. So if you try to reconnect your Internet while browsing the portal, you’ll be barred from further browsing. Don’t try to be too smart, I say!
Twitter to censor Tweets
The social networking portal has declared that it can now censor tweets in countries where the law wants them to do so. The micro-blogging portal’s decision comes amidst the intensifying dispute between India and leading Internet companies like Yahoo, Google and Facebook over the scrutiny of activities on social networking sites by its users. A Delhi court had asked 21 social networking portals to delete all derogatory content by February 6, 2012.
