Shirt Review: OTT for OOTD

This Is What You Need. We Have Another One That We Believe Should Not Be a Part of The Closet. So If You Were Feeling Indecisive, Here’s Everything You Need to Know!

Vivienne Westwood once said, “when in doubt, overdress.” Wondering if she is still sticking to the statement? Well, a 100% and her brand is the living proof of it. Vivienne Westwood, regarded as the ‘mother of punk’ is probably one of the last independent global luxury fashion houses thriving since 1970. Her OTT designs definitely shaped punk rock making the luxury house a true quintessentially British Brand. However, we believe today her designs are extreme and need more than just being sustainable to thrive in the business.

That being said, while uncovering the latest collection from the brand, we found a shirt that was loud and overdone, and we had to talk about it. It’s the sid shirt in tiger color, printed with the season’s graphic tiger artwork. To spill some details, this shirt celebrates the zodiac sign of the tiger, which is a symbol of strength, exorcising evils, and courage, which is applaudable. Also, it is made from FSC-certified viscose, certified by the Forest Stewardship Council.

It is long-sleeved with a front button fastening and a curved hemline, the print running in the center is getting to us, the color being too bright for the eyes and just not matching the vibe of the shirt. Let us ask you something, can you picture yourself wearing this to a date or maybe a family thing? No, right? There you have your answer! However, all things kept aside, let us take a moment to acknowledge the fact that the shirt comes in various sizes which even today many brands lack to deliver.

Kudos to Vivienne Westwood for considering environmentally friendly apparel. But, if it’s just down to being sustainable, we would hands down go with Stella McCartney. However, if you have always been a fan of the fearless lady Dame and her brand, then why even bother, go make the purchase! We’d love to see how you style this one. (Not being sarcastic)!
