Asit Kumar Modi is a good friend of Dilip Joshi aka Jethalal Gada.

Jennifer Mistry, who has played Mrs. Roshan Sodhi in the television series Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah for the past 15 years, has left the project. She joined other notable cast members who had already left the programme, including Shailesh Lodha, Disha Vakani, Bhavya Gandhi, and Gurucharan Singh.

But after accusing TMKOC producer Asit Modi of sexual harassment, Jennifer left the programme. Jennifer Mistry has reportedly made a complaint of workplace sexual harassment against Modi, Project Head Sohail Ramani, and Executive Producer Jatin Bajaj.

Jennifer said that harassment from the producers forced her to leave the well-known TV series after her final shoot for the programme in March. She added that she had filed a complaint of sexual harassment against the film’s directors, Asit Kumarr Modi, Sohil Ramani, and Jatin Bajaj, according to the leading News Portal.

Jennifer was not on the show for almost three years due to her Pregnancy.

Everybody on Taarak Mehta is an indentured servant, Jennifer continued. There have been numerous instances where I have let go in the past because I believed that things will change. I overlooked Khoon Ka Ghoont Peekar.

As an example, when she was pregnant, I didn’t want to quit the programme, but I was fired because Gurucharan Singh, her on-screen spouse, left. She continued by saying that she even offered different plotlines and repeatedly asked to not be fired. She added that she was willing to work into her ninth month of pregnancy, but was let go instead.

The actor claims that on March 7, Ramani (Project Head) and his assistant made fun of her and asked her to leave the scene. Later, she received a letter from the producers warning her that her absence from the shoot was costing them money. According to Indian Express, she then made the decision to consult her attorney and send them a legal notice.

Speaking to a prominent news outlet about the current dispute, Asit stated, “This is merely a bogus and unsubstantiated charge and it has no truth. She is merely attempting to harm my reputation. I’m not attempting to cover up anything or offer an explanation; this is just my honest response. Everyone is aware of my true personality. She was fired from my crew and the show.

She was asked to leave the show by my director and the crew. We have all the evidence, and I’m not simply mentioning it at random. You will shortly receive all the proofs and paperwork from my production.

In a statement about the incident, the production company Neela Telefilms said, “She lacked basic discipline on the set and was not paying attention to her work. We frequently had to voice our complaints about her actions to the production head.

Jennifer Mistry was abusive on her last day in front of the entire crew and departed the set before completing her shoot, according to the directorial team of Harshad Joshi, Rushi Dave, and Arman.

Shailesh Lodha quit the show in 2022. Later, Sachin Shroff came on board in place of him.
