Our cover star for this month, Aline Cara Luna is an irresistible fashion model, talented lingerie designer, and an impressive author who in time will reach heights. If we had to describe her, we’d simply say she’s someone you will connect to and start adoring from the moment you meet. In a fun and wild conversation with us, she talks all about her career, pet peeves, favorite authors, turn-ons, perfect date and so much more, read on to know all about her!
Let me begin by saying you are supremely gorgeous. We have heard about your career transition from being a fashion model to lingerie designer to author, how has it been like?
Thank you so much. The past years truly have been a rollercoaster ride. Despite the global Covid situation I have also traveled quite extensively and found a new home in Dubai. This turned out to be a fantastic decision, I am really enjoying my time in the sandpit. There have been some ups and downs but I am beyond grateful to say I am living the life I have pictured a few years ago.
You have worked with many photographers and well-known designers; what projects were your absolute favorites?
I am truly blessed to work with many amazing artists and I cherish all of those moments. For me personally, anything that includes working with animals such as horses, cheetahs, or birds has always been remarkable. For one because I love animals and also because they add a dimension of uncertainty to the shoot. You don’t wake up in the morning expect a cheetah cub will bite your toe later that day.

What makes you feel the most confident?
I think confidence stems from self-acceptance and self-love. I personally always feel the most confident when I am working towards a goal or accomplishing a milestone towards that goal. Also, I think it is very helpful to surround yourself with positive and ambitious people, we tend to become our environment.
Now you are an author, name some of your favorite writers and books?
There are many! I admire authors like Daniel Kahnemann or Robert Greene. But I also have great admiration for any author that can build a fictional world in his mind, that is something I could probably never do. I am currently reading “A little life” by Hanya Yanagihara, can highly recommend it.
We see you’re well in shape, how do you keep fit, what is your routine or secret mantra?
My secret is my personal trainer Magda (@magda_fitness)! I train with her 3-4 times a week and she keeps a strict eye on my diet and makes sure I am doing my cardio. I am a strong believer in balance. There is no point in torturing yourself nonstop. You will definitely occasionally catch me with a bottle of wine or a spicy margarita. I am glad to see a change in the public image of beauty, embracing healthier and more realistic standards.

If you could meet anyone in this world today, who would you meet?
I would rather like to host a party as there are so many people I am dying to meet. I could give you my top 3. Beyoncé Knowles, former German chancellor Angela Merkel, or Elon Musk.
What is one compliment you love receiving?
Someone recently told me I would easily survive any zombie apocalypse. I do not know whether this is true but it made my day. But I guess any compliment that revolves around a personal trait or being a good person as there goes a lot more thought into those than simply complementing one’s appearance.
What are some of your pet peeves?
That is going to be a bit crazy but touching textured wood. Like the old-school ice popsicles or wooden knife grips. Despise those, don’t ask why I don’t really have an explanation. And talking during movies.

How can men not be crazy for a charming lady like you, what are turn-on and turn-offs?
I think being a kind and ambitious person, being confident but yet able to laugh about himself, valuing family, having good manners, and being a bit old school would get you a long way. And sounds really straightforward but is the most important thing. He needs to know what he wants. There is nothing worse than an indecisive man. Being pretentious or not being able to display integrity or loyalty on the other hand will not only make me rout in a heartbeat.
Do you believe love is blind? What would a perfect date night be for you?
No, if it is blind it isn’t love. Surely you see your partner’s flaws and accept and love them regardless. But there is a difference between seeing and accepting versus allowing and accepting a person to cause you pain or sadness. Not talking about the occasional drama or fights. But if your relationship doesn’t serve you well and you stick around regardless, that’s a lack of self-worth. The best captains are always on land – if your emotions get the best of you and you seek validation from that person it is extremely hard to remove yourself out of that cycle.

What is one piece of advice you’d like to all our readers?
Don’t dwell on the past, nor daydream about the future. Try to be as present at the moment as you can be. Stop worrying so much about what others think; in fact, you are probably harder on yourself than any outsider would ever be. And most importantly my mums’ favorite advice every time I call her to ask for her opinion. You only regret the things you didn’t do. Life is beautiful but by far not fair, so you are smart to jump on every opportunity while it arises.
Tell us about your upcoming projects and plans both professionally and personally?
I am the most superstitious person you will ever meet. So I am afraid I cannot give away too much. Maybe just that much, I am currently writing my second book and thinking about translating my first so it’s accessible to a wider audience.
