The Tech Maestro’s Party
Add a different, fun filled dimension to your parties with these gizmos.

For some reason, every party seems the same around this time of the year. So if you are hosting one this year, we feel you. The pressure to impress and entertain is immense. Luckily, there are a ton of gadgets, some funky and some quite practical, that can breathe a new life into your parties. We list a few of them here. Thank us later.
Karaoke Machine – If someone is writing a book titled “How to Throw a Party in the 21st Century,” then they ought to dedicate a chapter to Karaoke Machines. Trust us when we say that great memories are made when booze, dudes, and Karaoke Machines come together. Get your friends to sing along to the tunes of Sting (or even Arijit for that matter,) with the Mitashi MK1012 Wireless Karaoke Mic (₹2,016 on Amazon.in). With an inbuilt echo function that lets you play around with different kinds of echoes, get ready to sing along to some of the greatest hits of all time.

Bluetooth Speaker – Good Bluetooth Speakers are the boombox of this decade. Not only are they very convenient to use and easy carry around, they are also the one thing without which all your parties are incomplete. Want to carry your indoors party to the outside by the pool or the bonfire? Good luck with those pesky cables if you are still using a traditional speaker. We suggest that you get the Marshall Stanmore Bluetooth Speaker (₹25,000 on Amazon.in). The bass on this thing is incredible, but the best thing about this bass thumping monster is that the mids and the highs is phenomenal as well. And if you are really feeling the urge to splurge, you can go for their Woburn System (₹35,845 on Amazon.in).

Beer tap – Beer rocks hard, even in winters! So naturally, a list of all must have party essentials need to have a beer tap. Enjoy beers as they were meant to be served with the Fizzics Waytap Beer Dispenser (₹13,000 on Amazon.in). We featured its elder brother a few issues ago and were quite impressed. Using sound waves, this dispenser works up a great foamy head that truly accentuates one’s drinking experience, and helps in preventing the beer from going flat for a long time. The best thing about the Fizzics is that it accepts all sorts of beer bottles and cans, and does not need any proprietary tool to pour out that perfect pint.
DJ turntable – What better way than to ring in the New Year than with jams that are truly yours? Give your favourite DJs a run for their money by mixing tunes that suit your rhythm and make you groove. We particularly like the Numark Party Mix DJ Controller (₹9,200 on Amazon.in). It is extremely easy to use, has large buttons and is so good that with a little practice even a newbie would appear as good as Steve Aoki. Connect it to your laptop, and get spinning some jaw dropping beats. The Controller also comes with a license for Virtual DJ LE, the software sthat aal your favourite pros use. To top it all off, the Numark has in built RGB LED lights that sync with the beats that you play, creating the perfect ambience for your house parties.

Projector – We get it if you are the quiet and somber type and just want to have a relaxed and chilled movie night with your gang. Now, although there is nothing wrong with settling down in front of your television, it leaves a lot to be desired as far as the movie watching experience is concerned. Therefore, there’s no harm in turning up the heat with a bitchin’ projector like the BenQ W1050 (₹65,500 on Amazon.in). One of the best Full HD, 1080p projectors out there, the W1050 is also one of the cheaper 3D projectors. And thanks to BenQ’s great colour science, for a projector, this one provides tack sharp images, and accurate colours even at 100 inches. Best thing of all? Because it has a short throw put, there’s no need for any remodeling or any complex installation procedures. Simply place it on a coffee table, plug it in to a source of your choice, adjust the focus, grab some popcorn, and you are good to go.
Charging Station – Sun Tzu in Art of War perhaps said that the greatest host is the one who takes good care of all his guests’ needs. Well, okay, maybe he didn’t say that exactly, but nevertheless if you wish to win the medal for the best Host of the decade, then you ought to take care of every need of your guest. And nothing is as dreadful as a phone that has almost run out of power. Save the evening with Tablor’s Multiple USB Charging Dock Station (₹2,200 on Amazon.in). As opposed to multiple port charging plugs, this device comes as a dock, which allows you to organize your devices with a breeze. The dock is capable of handling tablets of all sizes, along with three other phones. It also protects your devices from voltage fluctuations thanks to its in-built surge protector. The cherry on top everything else is the fact that it smartly adjusts the output for each port, by detecting the kind of device that has been plugged in.
