T-shirts
Ben Sherman Madness

Mod culture is what Ben Sherman is all about and this year it’s going back to its roots with collabos with a number of big British bands. This time around the company has joined forces with original ska kings Madness, and the result is a distinctly monochrome collection of shirts, polos and T-shirts featuring classic album artwork. There’s also the collection’s signature piece, a Harrington jacket for Rs 5,500. No sign of any baggy trousers anywhere, though.

Accessories
COTE et CIEL
As official outfitter to Apple’s iPad, COTE et CIEL is about to become a household name. Produced by the team behind cult accessories brand Damir Doma, the range is functional and hard-wearing without compromising on design – so you won’t look like an accountant. In the range are rucksacks, laptop cases and iPad holders, the design of which alone is so slick it’s reason enough to shell out for an iPad.
Laptop sleeve Rs 2,821, briefcase bag Rs 5,786, rucksack Rs 11,573, iPad case Rs 2,025; coteetciel.com

Shoes
Original Penguin
Despite originally starting life as a golf brand, Original Penguin has successfully made the transition to proper casual wear. Now the company is focusing its attention on footwear, with its reinterpretation of several classic summer styles including the espadrille, the loafer and the deck shoe. Perfect for a holiday, all the shoes have a rubber sole and canvas upper meaning you’ll be able to wear them with shorts on the beach and then with smarter trousers in the evening. originalpenguin.eu
Denim
Lee x Westwood

Lee already produces some of the best denim on the market, but it’s decided to call in the help of Brit fashion legend Vivienne Westwood to give its jeans her signature twist. The result is four trouser styles for men, including a skinny and regular fit, plus a rather daunting ‘Bondage’ fit. Best of all though, Westwood has brought her formidable shirt-making skills to the table and combined them with Lee’s denim knowledge to make what might be the ultimate denim shirt.

Outerwear
Whillas & Gunn

Looks like our Aussie cousins have raised the traditional outerwear stakes. Launching on both ASOS and Coggles at the end of July, Whillas & Gunn’s designs are heavily influenced by traditional workwear – hard wearing, practical and, thanks to the craze for function-led design, right on trend. Expect to find padded jackets, gilets and work shirts, all of which are built to last. Just ask the gnarled rancher who lives 500 miles from the nearest store. asos.com
Apparel
Burton Drift King
The search for decent, affordable loafing gear is over, as this month high street staple Burton launches its Americana-inspired Drift King range. With design nods to drag racing and vintage styling, you’ll find printed T-shirts, hoodies and joggers that already look like the sort of worn-in old favourites that command their own shelf in your wardrobe. Using thick, soft cottons, the range offers fantastic quality, especially for the price.
