A jab here, a punch there, keeps us glued to this fighting game.
Ultimate Fighting Championship is a mixed martial arts fighting game that uses the new EA Sports Ignite engine. The new engine brings action games closer to the ‘real’ scenario, by instilling an artificial human intelligence system in the games. This engine lets the in-game players react with real athletic antics - gauge opponents move and react accordingly, snap judgments and perform as a team player. Thus, the instilled framework makes the in-game characters more intuitive and highly receptive to its opponent’s moves.
The Gameplay
Moving on from the regular RPGs (role-playing games) and other run-of-the-mill sport franchises, UFC is one game that keeps you gripped and sets your adrenaline high throughout. And there is much more to this game than just a great sounding title - a goldmine of content with incredible roster and rich history; much more than the usual iterations from WWEs. For starters, ultimate fighting championship is an arcade like game, where fighters are bound by the rules of Octagon. Now, you would think how this game fares viz-a-viz MMA tactics? This is where the new Ignite engine steps into action and scores over! The engine enriches the fight movements, that reflect in your reflexes as it does in your stamina. With every bunch of punches you unleash on your opponent, you (your player) would be able to gauge his depleted energy level, and hence his moves would become more lethal. However, the gameplay loses its thirll every time players hit the mat - almost resembling to a scenario between two wasted drunks in a pub brawl. But, that constitutes less than 10% of the entire gameplay - most would find this number ridiculous, but we’d stick to getting back up and kicking some arse. Coming to the modes, a bit of letdown, there are: quick fight, online, career and more tutorials in the form of challenges. The tutorial mode is aggravating in the beginning due to its precision move requirement, but eventually grows on you and you start enjoying. There are 82 players spread over categories like Heavyweight, Light Heavyweight, Middleweight, Welterweight, Lightweight, Featherweight, Bantamweight, Women’s Bantamweight and Flyweight. Besides these, you can unlock Bruce Lee as a bonus fighter after winning any category championship.

UFC 14 will keep you glued to your LED sets for hours, if not days!
