Actor Junior Mehmood Dies At The Age Of 67

After battling a long battle with stomach cancer, actor Junior Mehmood passes away at 67. Read it out!

We all heard that “Life is unpredictable and Death is inevitable” because no one knows when life will take a U-turn. Every day in this world somewhere someone loses their person or family. All we can do is take the courage to stand and move ahead because life still goes on. Today, we are remembering actor Jr. Mehmood who passed away at 67. Bramhachari fame actor took his last breath around 2 am at his residence in Khar, Mumbai, on Friday. According to sources, the actor was battling with stage 4 stomach cancer for a very long time.

Junior Mehmood’s real name is Naeem Sayyed lives with his wife and two sons in Mumbai. The Jr. Mehmood name was given to him by the Late comic actor Mehmood Ali. He worked as a child artist in movies like Mohabbat Zindagi hai in 1966. Later he got a role in Naunihal which was released in 1967. In 1968, the actor starred in the movie called Suhag Raat with Mehmood Ali where he gave him Jr Mehmood’s name. He also starred in several other big movies such as Carvaan, Bramhachari, Haathi Mera Saathi, Parivar, Raja Saab, Do Raaste, Kati Patang, Ghar Ghar Ki Kahani, Aan Milo Sajna, Ramu Ustaad, Bachpan, Chanda aur Bijli, Pyar hi Pyar, Nateeja, Balak, Vishwas, Anjaana, Ustad Pedro, Hungama (1971), Amir Garib, Teri meri ik jindari, and so on. In his career, the actor acted in 265 movies in seven different languages. He also acted in TV serial “Tenali Rama” which was streamed on Sab TV.

Besides acting, Junior Mehmood also directed and produced 6 Marathi movies. The actor has been in critical condition for the last 17 days. He was at the fourth stage of stomach cancer and his treatment was undergoing at the Tata Memorial Hospital in Mumbai. He had lost 35 to 40 kgs in a month. The doctors told his family that at this stage chemotherapy and treatment would be quite painful. So, they suggested the family that takes care of him at home.

After hearing this news, several celebrities went to the actor’s home to meet him such as Johnny Lever, Jitendra, and Sachin Pilgaonkar. The ailing actor expressed his wish to meet the veteran actor Jeetendra Kumar as the duo shared screen in several movies. When Jeetendra visit the Junior Mehmood, he was accompanied by Johnny Lever and he got a bit emotional after seeing his condition. 

Junior Mehmood aka Naeem Sayyed burial ceremony was held on 8 December at the Juhu Muslim Cemetery in Santacruz West. His mother was also buried there. Late singer Mohammed Rafi and actor Dilip Kumar also buried in this cemetery. Several TV stars and veteran actors such as Raza Murad, Aditya Pancholi, Shailesh Lodha, Rakesh Bedi, among others, went to his funeral to pay their last tribute to the actor.
