Ahaan Pandey: New Kid on the Block

Just trying my best to hone my skills at this point of time

Tell us something about your childhood. How was it like growing up in an environment so oriented towards film and acting?

It had a great impact on me personally. I feel, most of our childhood fantasies turn into ambitions with age. If I wasn’t surrounded by all of it, I probably would have not thought of pursuing acting as much as I do now.

Did you always want to enter the film industry?

I presume it was when I was in the 6th grade. But one instance that I will never forget is, when I performed at a family friend’s wedding once, one of the current leading ladies came up to me and said the kindest words. Hence, whenever something pushes me back, her words pull me up again.

Considering you are already a star on social media, have things changed in your life, even before stepping into the big screen?

I don’t think so. For people who know me, they would know that I’m as normal as I should be, or any guy of my age should be. I haven’t done anything yet to feel or act otherwise.

What would your dream role be, and what do you feel you would bring to it?

That will hopefully be answered in a few years *fingers crossed*

If you get a choice, who would you like as your director, mentor and co-actor, and why?

The best mentor anyone can ask for is Shanoo Sharma. If you haven’t met her, don’t! Because boy...you’re going to fall for her and you’re going to fall bad. She can just turn any frown upside down.

If not an actor, which profession would you have chosen?

I don’t see myself elsewhere... but I guess something to do with films, because that is where my interest lies.

We’ve seen you doing many Dubsmash videos as well as short films, which one is your favourite?

It would be the short film I did, called ‘fifty’, not because of the final product or anything of that sort; rather it is because I had a great time shooting for it, and I learnt a lot from my director - Manav Chauhan.

Who according to you is your style icon, why?

Kanye West, for his streetwear and obsession for sneakers

What is your dress up on a daily basis?

I mostly keep it very basic with denims and long sleeves and add a WOW factor with a Jacket or a nice pair of sneakers/shoes. Basic never fails!

Tell us something that nobody knows about Ahaan.

Tell us something that nobody knows about Ahaan.

That Ahaan was initially supposed to be named Yash, and not Ahaan; but then my parents went with Ahaan.

Where do you see yourself in five years from now?

Doing what I love

What is that one film you would have loved to be a part of?

Titanic! If I had got the chance to work in that film, or even see the ending scene being shot live, my life would have been complete.

What are your plans for 2018?

Just working on myself. I also want to travel somewhere I’ve never been before; so I guess I’ll be doing that.

How do you define success?

Success is doing what makes you happy...that’s my opinion. It's cliché, but true. When you do what you love, everything else just follows.

Describe yourself in three words.

Happy go lucky!

What qualities do you look for in your partner?

I don’t. I might be too young to say this, but I feel, if you have preconceived notions of how you want your partner to be, you’ll never be satisfied. I feel the beauty of life is that every person is different and has something different to offer. Isn’t that exciting?

What turns you on in a woman?

Confidence

What is the biggest turn-off?

Unnecessary ego

On an average day, you dress up in?

What are those 5 things you would love to buy from Koovs?

Their SS’ 18 collection has some very cool pieces that I loved.

Camo Summer Jacket

Denim Jacket with a Tiger motive on back, Black & White tee with flames on the sleeves, Red Trainers

How does Koovs fit in your style?

I prefer effortless styling, which is more of causals with a preppy vibe. And same is true for KOOVS as well.

If you see their latest Spring Summer collection, it comprises mostly of basics with a twist and some highlighting pieces like Red Trainers, Yellow Trainers, and Denim Jackets with motif etc. to add an edge to your look.
