On Thursday afternoon, the makers of Article 370 finally revealed the trailer of their upcoming movie based on the removal of special status (Article 370) from Jammu & Kashmir. In the two-minute, forty-second trailer, Yami Gautam is caught between the challenges facing the political parties and the military in trying to remove Jammu & Kashmir’s special status and the political instability that results from it. military and the political parties must overcome to eliminate it.
The trailer promises a political thriller with a fast-paced plot that follows the circumstances leading to Article 370’s repeal. It also demonstrates how radicals seeking to seize control of the area are contributing to the growth in terrorism in the area.
Yami’s character soon enlists in the NIA and is given carte blanche to complete a task in Kashmir. The administration also promises to eliminate Article 370 at all costs. The teaser demonstrates how she and the government manage to stay powerful in the face of political strife. The dramatic background score by Shashwat Sachdev highlights the increased tensions.
The trailer further talks about how Article 370 has been used to support terrorism and corruption in the state and why getting rid of it was difficult but necessary. It sheds light on the Central Government’s efforts and commitment to completing the task.
Few days before the release of the trailer, the makers also released its first song “Dua” for which the reception to the song from netizens has likewise been overwhelmingly positive. Yami Gautam portrays an intelligence officer in the song crooned by Jubin Nautiyal, which has music by Shashwat Sachdev and is a magnificent ode to all the national heroes who have selflessly served their country.
Speaking about the film, Yami Gautam said that viewers will appreciate this genre-defining picture and referred to her future project as a “bold chapter of India’s history.” For her, as an actor, this type of film gave her opportunities to delve into the newer depths of complexities, and once again Article 370 gave her a role that hadn’t been trodden before.
Aditya Suhas Jambhale, a two-time national award winner, is the director of the film, which stars Kiran Karmakar, Yami Gautam, Priyamani, and Arun Govil. Aditya Dhar (director of Uri), and Jyoti Deshpande produced the movie under the banner of B62 Studios Production.
