The 17-person Indian team for the forthcoming Asia Cup was just revealed few days ago by the BCCI selectors. Leg spinner Yuzvendra Chahal, to his chagrin, was unable to get a spot in the team.
Several experts and fans have expressed their dissatisfaction with the development via various social media sites. In the meantime, Dhanashree Verma, the spouse of Chahal, posted a mysterious message on her Instagram story. The internet community now claims that Dhanashree’s post was obviously a jab at the BCCI for leaving the wrist spinner off the Men in Blue roster for the Asia Cup.
“I’m seriously starting to mistrust this at this point. If being extremely meek & introverted can hurt your professional development? Or do we all need to be extroverts and street-smart to advance in life? ” Dhanashree asks in her Instagram story. “Ultimately, it comes down to you and your God. And fortunately, everybody is on your side. Thankful. She concluded, “God is awesome,” in a subsequent Instagram story.
Although the article avoided directly addressing the reasons for Chahal’s exclusion from the Asia Cup roster, its timing has led to speculation about the feelings Dhanashree may be feeling in light of the news. Chahal, however, made the decision to graciously accept the BCCI and Indian cricket team’s decision and to remain optimistic about it.
