Bold & Beautiful
With a sparkle in her eyes and a mischief in her smile, she’s surely the biggest head turner around. An industry newbie, she is set to be the next big thing, one step at a time.

Calm, composed, and compassionate, Sakshi Malik has charmed her way into people’s hearts since her very first movie. She exudes a raw sensuality that is both appealing and enchanting. Sakshi can captivate your attention with just her eyes, but there’s more to her personality than her flawless beauty. From her journey in Bollywood and the Punjabi film industry, to her treasured childhood memories, the actor bared it all in this tête-à-tête, giving me more than just a glimpse into her life.
But that’s not all that the star brings to the table. With the rise of social media and the world becoming a smaller place, she also leads her life being an influencer, and stays connected with her audience at a personal level. An engineer turned model, she says that destiny had other plans for her. In this freewheeling chat, Sakshi talks about embracing failures, empowering individuals, and what she is looking for in her ideal partner. Edited excerpts from our conversation.

What’s your most embarrassing childhood memory?
I was 6 years old and we had gone to a family friends house for dinner, believe it or not I was so clueless that I went ahead and washed my own plate after I was done eating.
How did a switch from a profession in engineering to modelling and social media come about?

Destiny as they say, life had other plans for me.
The song Bom Diggy Diggy was a chart buster with over 475+ million views. And you received an ecstatic response for it from the audience. How was your experience?
I truly enjoyed the experience and had a great feeling about it from the very beginning. I’m so happy the audience appreciated my work, for which I reap the benefits till today. I am really thankful to all my fans.
Before you making a debut in Bollywood, you have been a part of Punjabi music videos too. How has the exposure in each industry been?

The exposure and experience is not limited to certain industries as I believe that everything is connected. The working styles may differ but at the end of the day it’s all about hard work, which will hopefully take me further in each of my endouvour.
What has been the most exciting moment since you became an influencer and what has been your go to pro Instagram tip?
It was when my fans recognised my parents as Sakshi ki mummy. Nothing better than sharing my happiness and success with my parents. It was truly humbling.
My go to pro Instagram tip is very simple and is best described in one word: Authenticity. The audience is really educated and smart , they easily catch on whether an influencer is being true to them or just putting on a show. And I am as fluid on Instagram as I am in real life, and that is the reason why my audience relates with me.

If a genie granted you three wishes right now, what would you wish for and why?
Nothing for me but everything for the world. No pains or sorrows for anyone. No one sleeps hungry. And everyone has a roof over their head, including animals. I know this would disbalance the laws of nature but we can leave that for the genie to figure out.
We are most alive when we are in love. What qualities would you look for in your perfect man?
Sense of humour, compassion and respect for all. Not as simple as it sounds but I might have found my lucky one.

Love them or hate them, you definitely can’t ignore them. So, in order to woo you, what must a gentleman do?
Contradicting common misconception, there’s not much a woman asks for. Any gentleman should try to genuinely love and care for his lady and try to understand her deeply.
Money, power or good looks: what would you rather have an unlimited supply of and why?
Good looks fade away with time, power brings ego with it, so that leaves us with money. There’s so much good waiting to be done in the world and I would definitely do my bit if I had unlimited money.

It is said “what hurts today makes you stronger tomorrow.” We would like to know how do you manage your fitness regimen despite your busy schedule?
There are people much more busier than me and they take time out to remain healthy and fit for a workout. Health is truly wealth and there’s nothing more worthy at the expense of spoiling or not taking care of your health. An hour or 40 minutes in a day is all that it requires, we just need to be motivated for the start.
When Sakshi unwinds, what does she indulge in?
One word - chocolate.
Social media is a great way for fans to connect with their dream celebrities and vice versa. But how do you deal with internet trolls?
Positives and negatives are a part of life. I have mastered the art of not getting too happy when I see good comments, as well as not having any reactions reading a few negative ones. Also, many people negatively troll to just stand out of the regular flow of comments; but are following me for a reason, so it’s all taken in good spirit.
