Shah Rukh Khan

2023 all belong to Shah Rukh Khan, and this year all belong to him; it gave 2 blockbuster films back-to-back just in a span of 6 months. Pathaan was released in the first month of 2023, and from the first day of its release, it broke many records at the box office. And just after a few months, SRK came back with Jawan, which also made a huge number at the box office. With Pathaan, Deepika Padukone and John Abraham have made their big comeback which was the talk of the town at the time of Pathaan’s release.

Zero was his last film, which was released in 2018, and there was a straight 4 years gap in which fans of SRK were eagerly waiting for his comeback. In his break from the industry, he was seen in cameo roles in Rocketry: The Nambi Effect, Laal Singh Chadda, and played an important role in the Brahmastra Part One – Shiva as Mohan Bhargav.

Rajinikanth

Rajinikanth is an actor whom his fans have always worshipped, but back in 2021, he was seen in the film ‘Annatthe’ which didn’t work well at the box office. But he made his comeback in 2023 with a bang. Rajinikanth was recently seen in Nelson’s Jailer, which made above 600 crores at the box office and became the second-highest-grossing Tamil film of 2023 and the sixth-highest-grossing Indian film of 2023.

Shraddha Kapoor

Shraddha Kapoor, touted to be among India’s highest-paid actresses, has always shone in pristine yet vulnerable roles. She has observed major successes, like in her breakthrough Aashiqui 2 and low commercial collections. Her last big theatrical release in 2020 was Street Dancer 3D, which did not perform well either in story or direction.

However, this year, Kapoor made her three-year hiatus with Luv Ranjan’s Tu Jhooti Main Makkar, opposite Ranbir Kapoor, as a commitment-fearing career woman. Tu Jhooti Main Makkar became a hit receiving a reported sum of around Rs. 220. 20 crores. Recently, Shraddha Kapoor bought a 4 crore Audi for herself.

Deol Brothers

If any comebacks were unexpected, then it was the Deol Brothers’, which showed their capabilities in terms of acting and performance. Sunny Deol was working on films but could not get the appreciation that he deserved. His last release, ‘Chup’, was appreciated by critics but did not work at the box office, and afterward, he made his comeback with Gadar 2, which became one of the biggest films of 2023.

Akshay Kumar

The superstar, who has been starring in diverse films for a while, did not strike with the tastes and likes of the audience and failed to perform at the box office. Akshay Kumar’s successful film in 2021 was Sooryavanshi, after the COVID pandemic. But after Sooryavanshi, his multiple releases like Bachchan Pandey, Samrat Prithviraj, Ram Setu, and Raksha Bandhan did not work at the box office and received underwhelming reviews from critics despite being of versatile genres and styles.

However, after many struggles, OMG 2 grossed over 200 crores and ranks among the 9th highest-grossing Hindi films of the year. Akshay Kumar was a supporting character, but his screen presence added more worth to watching the film.
