Book of the Month
Men to Boys: The Making of Modern Immaturity

What is it about
Tracing the history of Men from 1860s till the modern times, Gary Cross has wonderfully talked about how American boys have changed their ways and perception over these generations. The book gives an insight view of metamorphosis in men’s experiences and code of conducts in society with the changing times. While talking about the minute changes in the men’s behaviour like shunning away family life in today’s neo-liberal era, the book gives a vivid picture of how men were self-driven earlier to take the family responsibilities but have contrastly changed with the time.
b. Why we recommend

As the book primarily is about men in the cultural context of both earlier generations and current generations, it is a good read to understand the cultural aspect of America and how does it place men in it. Specifically for men who love to read the coming of age story of men in American Society, this is surely for them.
