Another proud moment comes for India as an Indian music composer Ricky Kej won his 3rd Grammy Award this year. The star-studded 65th Grammy Awards were held at Crypto.com Arena, L.A. An Indian music composer Ricky Kej won his 3rd Grammy Award this year

 

 

The Bangalore-based music composer won 3rd-time grammy awards for his album “Divine Tides” (Lahiri Music) in the “Best Immersive Audio Album” category. Ricky Kej shared this honour with the legendary British rock band The Police drummer Stewart Copeland, who collaborated with Ricky Kej on the Divine Tides record. Last year, they also won the 2nd grammy award for the same album in the “Best New Age Album” category. He took home his first Grammy award in the year 2015 for his album “Wind of Samsara” in the Best new age album category. Ricky Kej dedicated his 3rd grammy award to India.

The Divine Tides album was released in July 2021, but still, this album comes in the eligibility period for the 65th grammy awards due to reissue. It is a nine-song album whose purpose is to deliver the message that every person’s life plays a vital role in maintaining the balance that serves all equally.

Besides Ricky Kej, an American singer & songwriter, Beyonce made history by winning most Grammy Awards. She won Thirty-two awards, other than winning the Best Dance/Electronic Album for Renaissance, she won for her song “Cuff it” for the Best R&B song. Apart from Kendrick Lamar has had many awards this night. Also, Kim Petras and Sam Smith won Grammy Awards for Best Duo Pop performance beating the BTS band Coldplay. Kim Petras is the first Trans-woman to win a Grammy Award. Harry Styles won the Album of the year award and defeated Beyonce.

First Indian who won this prestigious award was Pandit Ravi Shankar. He won this award in 1968 for West Meets East for the Best Chamber Music Performance. He won this award five times and made history. After that, Indian singer Zubin Mehta won this award five times. On the other hand, the most loved singer A.R. Rehman won grammy awards two times for the Slumdog Millionaire movie songs. In 2015, the singer Neela Vasani won this award for her album I Am Masala in the Best Children’s Album category. Singer Ricky Kej also won his first award this year.
