76th Cannes Film Festival is right around the corner. Here’s a look at every detail of this gracious film festival.

One of the much-anticipated gracious film festivals is around the corner. So, folks get ready for Light, Camera, and Cannes. It’s just a matter of a few days for a small city in France to turn into a film’s capital. The 76th Cannes Film Festival will be held from 16 May to 27 May 2023 in Spain. This year Cannes Festival created a buzz in Indian cinema because several Indian movies are shortlisted to be screened at this festival including Anurag Kashyap’s Kennedy starring Rahul Bhatt, Abhilash Thapliyal, and Sunny Leone and Rahul Roy starring Agra movie.

Before heading forward, Let’s be clear about some basic things such as What is the Cannes Film Festival? Why was it celebrated? When it was started?

Cannes Film Festival is the world’s biggest film festival which was opted in 1939. Since 1946 it held every year, except 1946 and 1950, due to lack of funds. Its main purpose is to recognise artistic achievements. During this festival, artists, filmmakers, producers and among others from all over the world meet and exchange ideas, appreciate each other, and some even sign a contract to work together on the project.

During this festival, well-known celebrities from all over the world were invited to grace the red carpet of the Cannes Film Festival with their presence. They dressed according to the theme. This year 76th Cannes Film Festival follows the theme “Walk Your Worth” and also American actor Michael Douglas will receive Palme d’ or d’ honneur and play a tribute to the actor in the opening ceremony on May 16.

Michael Douglas’s statement after the announcement was “It always feels like a breath of fresh air to be at Cannes Film Festival, which has provided a platform for excellent artists who have audacity, brilliant storytellers, and bold creators. Every year this film festival has reminded us of the magic of cinema. That it is just not what people see on screen but also has the ability to impact people across the globe. After working 50 years in this show business it’s an honour to return to Croisette”.

For all the Bollywood lovers it’s a delight to watch our former Miss World Aishwarya Rai Bachchan walk on the red carpet of this festival while spreading her charm which mesmerized the audience. However, other than Aishwarya Rai Bachchan many Bollywood celebrities also marked their presence at Cannes Film Festival such as Sonam Kapoor, Katrina Kaif, Deepika Padukone, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Tv actress Hina Khan, and Helly Shah, etc.

Last year, South movie star Pooja Hegde also made her debut at Cannes Film Festival and turn heads with her cutest smile and sartorial choice in outfit. She looked like a Disney princess in her strapless dramatic feathery monotone gown. She styled her outfit with huge statement earrings and left the other accessories at rest and tied her tresses in a sleek low ponytail. She opted for mascara-laden lashes, kohl-rimmed eyes, nude glossy lips, and blushed cheeks. She attended the American actor Tom Cruise starring in Top Gun Maverick’s premiere.

This year, Bollywood actress Anushka Sharma and 2017 Miss World Manushi Chillar will debut at this wonderful film festival.

Anurag Kashyap’s Kennedy will also premiere at this festival during a midnight screening. The filmmaker said, It’s a movie and genre, I always wanted to explore. I am just grateful for the opportunity.
