Movies This Month: Tezz, American Reunion, Housefull 2 and The Pirates!
Ajay Devgn races a bomb, the American Pie gang reunites and Housefull 2 brings back the madness – the films out this month.
Tezz
With kickass action scenes, Tezz promises to end the long box office reign of chick-flicks, which is something that men have been waiting for…
The most awaited release this month, this action-thriller packs in stunts directed by Gareth Milne and Peter Pedrero of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows and Quantum of Solace fame making it a testosterone ride.
With the exquisite countryside of England in the backdrop, the film top-lines Mohanlal, Ajay Devgn, Anil Kapoor and Kangna Ranaut helmed by the very talented Priyadarshan.
Tezz revolves around two men – one out to take revenge and get back what has been wrongly snatched from him, while the other put out there to stop him and bring justice. Aakash Rana (Ajay Devgn) and Counter Terrorism Command Arjun Khanna (Anil Kapoor) are pitted against each other and will do whatever it takes to get what they want. Now their fate will be decided in the super fast train, speeding from Glasgow to London (hence the name).
The trailer shows some gruelling action scenes shot akin to a Hollywood flick and set to Sajid-Wajid’s foot-tapping numbers, so we are hoping this is a good one!
Tezz earlier titled Bullet Train releases on April 27, 2012.
American Reunion
Four best friends reunite after 13 years with the exact same wickedness on their minds. Oh and Finch still fancies Stifler’s mother!
Over a decade has passed since the first installment of the American Pie series hit theatres with its brand of perverseness and they’ve come a long way – from vowing to break their virginity at prom to getting married and having babies. But don’t old habits die hard? We’ll find out when they return to East Great Falls, Michigan for a reunion.
Everyone from Michelle, Jim, Heather, Oz, Kevin, Vicky, Finch, Stifler and his mom are back, but a lot has changed. Jim and Michele are married with a baby, Kevin is a successful architect and Oz works for a NFL show. Of course, Finch still has the hots for Stifler's mom and there’s also Kevin’s ex girlfriend, Heather and the foreign chick Nadia.
We at FHM are definitely booking tickets in advance considering how much fun we had thanks to the gang in high school.
Get ready for the reunion that takes place on April 13, 2012.
Housefull 2: The Dirty Dozen
The first Housefull failed to impress us, but should you have high-expectations from the second edition…
Well, considering the makers are following a similar plotline, we are preparing to be bummed out once again. The done-to-death comedy and mundane one-liners leave us with no choice but to presume that the movie doesn’t have much to offer except the smokin’ hot girls.
Bollywood’s theory of finding funnies in chaos continues with Sajid Khan adding in more confusing characters to the already mad mix. So apart from Akshay Kumar and Ritesh Deshmukh (reprising their roles), John Abraham, Shreyas Talpade, Asin, Jacqueline Fernandez, Zarine Khan, Shazahn Padamsee, Mithun Chakraborty, Randhir Kapoor, Rishi Kapoor and Boman Irani (also back for round two) are part of the massive star cast too.
There are four fathers, four daughters and four prospective son-in-laws. Each father wants his daughter to marry the richest guy, each daughter thinks she’s marrying the richest guy and each son-in-law pretends to be the richest guy. Confused yet? All the characters are put under one roof in one BIG house and they can’t stand each other.
Sajid-Wajid’s music is peppy, but one track that steals the show is Anarkali Disco Chali featuring Malaika. However, another of the film’s songs – Papa Toh Band Bajaye has come under controversy and is accused of being a rip-off of We Speak No Americano.
The madness begins on April 5, 2012. Hopefully, it will be a HOUSEFULL.
The Pirates! Band of Misfits
The swashbuckling pirates take you on a fun-filled journey loaded with quirky adventures…
The bad-boys of Tezz will be pitted against the pirates this month, but while the former is an action flick, The Pirates! is a 3D stop-motion animation.
No connections with Pirates of the Caribbean, this one’s based on two books (The Pirates! in an Adventure with Scientists and The Pirates! in an Adventure with Whaling) of the series by Gideon Defoe. Hugh Grant, Salma Hayek, Jeremy Piven, Imelda Staunton and David Tennant have lent their voices.
In order to win the Pirate of the Year Award, Pirate Captain (Hugh Grant) and his crew of swaggering pirates try hard to beat rivals, Black Bellamy (Jeremy Piven) and Cutlass Liz (Salma Hayek). On their quest for victory, they travel from the shores of Blood Island to the misty roads of London. In between, they also battle Queen Victoria (Imelda Staunton) by joining the gang of Charles Darwin.
Not surprisingly, the film is gaining immense popularity amongst men. Ahoy matie!
The Pirates! Band of Misfits starts off its voyage on April 27, 2012.
