From an international runway model to a Playboy Bunny to an electronic music DJ – Sarah Robertson is the fresh face from Australia who has played with the likes of Snoop Dog and LMFAO, and posed as a bunny on posters across China in just two years. Currently touring the world as DJ Sarah, she loves to spin records and entertain the crowd till dawn.

Music has always been a passion for her since childhood. In fact, it was modelling that happened to her by chance, thanks to her tall frame. "I learnt violin for about 6 to 10 years and music theory for 9 as everything revolved around music for me during school," she reminisces. And to top that off, she was a disciplined child. “(Laughs) I was in a fun school, but then I was always involved with music and swimming. My high school was all girls, so yeah kinda boring,” she shares.

Being a part of the EDM circuit, by default Sarah mentions Paul Van Dyk and David Guetta as the best of the lot. “PVD has been around for so many years and I’ve learnt a lot from him, while Guetta is such a major influence not only for me, but everyone.”

Picking from her mammoth list of events, she recently played at the Grammys after-party hosted by Sean Diddy. “The night was simply amazing. It was a BIG moment for me, walking the red carpet with the finest musicians and celebrities like Paris Hilton. To be honest, walking for CK and Versace was not as big a deal as this one was,” she confesses.

However, the most special moment was the one when she was informed about being selected as a Playboy Bunny. “In less than a week I had to find someone to take care of my cat, housesit and pay off my bills as I was heading to China for six months,” she laughs. “But then, I think any girl will drop everything to be that.”

Sarah was personally invited by Hugh Hefner to the Midsummer Nights Dream Party at the Playboy mansion. “This is one party that is hosted by Hefner himself and to be present there, you need to be invited by him.”

Though today, she has taken a break from the glamour world and is concentrating on her role behind the console. “I don't have time for modelling as of now. Creating music is something I’m more inclined towards. In fact, in a couple of months I will be releasing my first track,” she states. You will usually find her making the crowd dance to her effervescent remixes at the Platinum club, Down Under, apart from playing at festivals and touring different countries.

Talking about her tours, Robertson just concluded her gig in India hosted by White Mischief and was enthralled seeing the transition from Bollywood to electronic tracks. “Even when I was seated in a café here, I could hear electronic numbers playing, so it’s definitely a head start for the EDM industry. Not that Bollywood music is bad. I’ve heard a few songs and must say they’re lovely.”

Near the end of our interview, she quickly tells us that she loves Indian food and has grown up eating curries, is absolutely not a fitness freak and hates carrying sneakers because they are extra baggage.
