Tease to Please

The purpose of Kama Sutra is not solely limited to the romanticized aspect of love making. However it can be projected as an athletic endeavor too.

Tease to Please

If there’s one thing for which the west can definitely thank us, it is the scripture of Kama Sutra, used to practice tantra, which means sacred sexuality in Sanskrit. Not only does it help in achieving an exciting energy but also a svelte body, it has some major benefits of impacting one’s overall lifestyle, be it physical, mental or sexual.

The age old manual of love making does not confine you to the physical aspect of your relationship, but it connects you and your partner at a spiritual level. The purpose of Kama Sutra was not merely to educate masses about different sexual techniques, but to promote a healthy relationship between the partners and constructively use sexual energy. Several Western and Indian authors, interpreters and commentators have paid attention only to the sexual and physicality aspect, leading to the scripture’s misrepresentation. However as we look deeper into the teachings of Kama Sutra, we notice that they go far beyond sex.

Tease to Please

Why go to all the work getting and in top shape, if you can’t take it to the bedroom? Sex too, can be an athletic endeavor, if you and your partner are fit and willing to try something that might take you both out of your comfort zone.

We look back into history and dig out muscle building Kama Sutra positions that couples should try at least once — and aren’t impossible for you to master.

Janukurpara

Lifting weights gets a new definition altogether is this form of sexercise, but the Janukurpara position is well worth it. Herein, you lift your partner up, locking your elbows under their knees and gripping them with your hands while they place their arms around your neck to hold on. Janukurpara offers lots of eye contact, a rush of hormones and the added benefit of making you look like an acrobat.

Tease to Please

This is where your bicep curls and pushups pay off. The man’s upper-body muscles, including his abs are used. But the giver isn’t the only one who gets a workout; the woman will need to engage her inner thighs and arm muscles to stay supported in her lovers arms.

Dhanuka

Well this does call for your world to come upside down, literally. This classic position is when a woman stands with her feet apart and the man stands behind her. She then bends over until her hands touch the floor. In this topsy-turvy version of the position, the man can hold the woman’s waist as she — calling upon ample upper body strength and muscle control — lifts her feet off the ground.

The woman has to hold a modified plank in this position, which will work her abs, arms, and shoulders. If her wrists get sore from holding all of her weight, she can lower down onto her forearms.

Tease to Please

Indranika

This position focuses on eye contact and physical closeness of the lovers, thereby creating a heightened level of intimacy. The woman lies back on her back with her legs wrapped around the man’s thigh. A pillow or two can be placed under the woman’s back for added comfort and support, which raise her pelvic area. The man is supposed to be kneeling for this position to function.

Both the man and woman will be feeling a huge pressure and stretch over their pelvic region. As the muscles in their lower abdomen begin to work, they might feel a certain pull. The man is almost imitating the posture of a sumo wrestler and performing a squat which will strengthen his glutes, thighs, and hamstrings.

Virsha

A passionate and romantic position which may seem a little awkward initially, is one of the easiest to try in the very beginning. Herein, the man lays flat on his back, while the woman squats over him, facing his feet. She then lowers herself onto him and leans forward gripping his ankles.

Tease to Please

Not so much of a workout for the man but the woman surely gets her dose of muscle building. Her abdominal core muscles are at their strongest and her quadriceps and hamstrings are in full vigour.

The scriptures pay a lot of importance on the fun element of sex. That is what converts a rather boring, mechanical session to something that a couple looks forward to. Try all the experimenting you want. If the fun element is missing, this might be the perfect way to spice things up between you and your partner.

Be it sex or any other matter; ensure that you equally involve your partner. Participation is the key word. When you seek an active role from your partner, (in and out of bed) he/she feels wanted and the synergy between the two leads to greater fulfillment. That’s what samabhog (equal pleasure) is all about.
