The Fun Brothers
Meet Brothers are known for their music and jovial nature. From Babydoll to tracks like Luv Letter and Heeriye, the brothers have been a hit!

What are you working on lately?
Besides the films we are doing right now, which we cannot name, we are working on our MB music label; which is for the artist, by the artist. It’s a new concept. Considering a lot of singers are popping up, we just felt that since the digital world has taken off, we need to create a platform to give these people a chance. The label pertains to creating independent music.

You started with commercials and daily soaps, why did you leave acting?
We realised something about acting that there is no consistency. After every few months, you will be out of work. You might get some, you might get a lot or you might get none. There is no security in life. It is a dicey business. It is affected by TRPs a lot. There is no stability.
If given a chance, would you want to act in a movie?
We have been actors, but we don’t want to do something which do not suit us. A lot of singers have pursued acting and it didn’t work out for them, so we want to act in movies which suits us, which are probably musicals, where people relate to us.
You started as Meet Bros Anjjan, what was the reason of the trio splitting up?
No, just that Anjjan wanted to go his own way because of his personal reasons. After a point, you feel that you want to have your own niche, their individual identity. We did try to convince of how we are all growing together. It was his decision and ultimately, we respected it. So that was that.
You’ve worked with Sonu Nigam, Kanika Kapoor, Yo Yo and others, whom did you have the most fun?
Honestly, Meet Brothers are all about fun. Whoever joins in, we are laughing out loud, cracking up, having fun. But for sure, Mika and Sonu Nigam are the ones we had the most fun with.
A person from Hollywood you adore?
Oh yes, in men it is Leonardo and women, Megan Fox!
Do you idolize anyone? Who is your inspiration?
The only inspiration we have is from God. We are very spiritual and for us, everything we have is given by Him and our parents. There is no literal inspiration because we have had our own style of music. When we came in Munni Badnam and Sheila Ki Jawani were happening and we came up with Babydoll and Chittiyan Kalaiyan, so the trend changed. We have never followed anyone, no one’s really inspired us but the music which we love is by RD Burman, AR Rahman and Honey Singh. These three people, we love! But we don’t follow anybody’s music, we like to create our own. Music is a gift given to us by God, it is also called Ayaan. So music is Ayaan to us.
Since you believe in spiritualism, Ayaan (God’s gift), do you also believe in the statement “Everything is written” or Maktub, referred in Arabic?
It is 2000% confirmed that Maktub is the reality of life. Every alphabet, every thought, every breath is prewritten. And interestingly, that, in a way naturally defies the concept of Karma.. Because everything good, bad, whatever people do to you or happens to you is prewritten.
To talk about beliefs, I also believe the world hasn’t contemplated or realised another concept, the concept of a parallel world. I believe there is a parallel universe, a virtual reality which exists. It is a conversation kept for some other day!
Did you both always had a thing for music or is it an acquired taste?
We have had a thing from the very beginning. It was a gift from our school and college time. We had no learning or education of music. When you leave a few kids alone by themselves, some will pick up a bat, some will pick up a pet, some will pick a toy but us both, we have picked up music from the very beginning.
