While sharing the post he captioned “Bringing alive a heart-wrenching tale of love, obsession & betrayal.” this movie also stars Golshifteh Farahani, veteran actress Waheeda Rehman, Tillotama Shome, and Shashank Arora in the pivotal roles.
It’s a folktale of love and deception
The movie is set in the Thar desert, in Rajasthan and stars Golshifteh Farahani as a tribal woman named Nooran who is an independent and kind woman and the only one who knows the ancient art of healing scorpions-bitten people. She learned this art from her grandmother (Waheeda Rehman). She travels the wide desert foot-far to cure the people beaten by scorpions.

Irrfan Khan plays the character of Adam, a camel trader. One day, he saw Nooran and falls in love with her, Nooran also reciprocates his feeling. But before they tie the knot, a tragedy happens. Nooran was poisoned by infidelity that sets on a journey to find her song. Will they live together and will she find her song?

The Rajasthani-language film “The Song of Scorpions” is directed and written by Anup Singh and produced by Shahaf Peled, Michel Merkt, and Saskia Vischer. The film has already been screened at several film festivals including the 70th Locarno Film Festival in Locarno, Switzerland in 2017. The movie will be released in theatres on April 28, a day before Irrfan Khan’s third death anniversary.
