The Slimmest of Them All: Gionee Elife S5.5
FHM reviews the Gionee Elife S5.5, at 5.5 mm the world’s slimmest phone, with a 5 MP front camera, 13 MP rear camera and 1.7 GHz octa-core processor.

A 5 mp front camera that commands a selfie, but that’s just one of the things the Gionee S5.5 is about. Oh, it also happens to be the World’s Slimmest phone.
It has a Cornilla Gorilla Glass screen, a 5 MP front camera, a 13 MP rear camera, a metal chassis but despite that the Gionee 5.5 measures up at a mere 5.5 mm. Just to put this in perspective the Sony Xperia T2 Ultra measures 7.7 mm and Huawei Ascene P6 measures up to 6.18mm. The front and the rear of the device sport a similar back glass that we have seen in Google’s Nexus 4 device. The Elife S5.5 sports a spectacular full HD screen, owing to its AMOLED display, cloaking in 441 PPI (pixels per inch). This results in truly vibrant colour reproduction doubled up with sharper text readability that makes the UI spectacularly good looking. The UI - an Amigo UI skinned on top of Android 4.2 Jelly Bean, in particular got a lot of our attention, because of the refreshed look of the bloatware ruling this phone. The icons are a newfangled change from what people have grown to expect from an Android phone, thus making this phone much more appealing. What really stands out in the phone is the combination of its front and rear camera, bringing forth an 5MP and a 13 MP capability to the table. While the rear camera does a good job, it is the front snapper that’s the real hero and makes clicking selfies a proper breeze. Colour contrasts and picture saturation seem to be just right. Under the hood, the phone is equipped with a 1.7 GHz octa-core processor that zips through most of the tasks on board and still gives you room to squeeze in more. Thus, the phone is a sweet treat for the multi-tasker in you. The phone also holds a 16GB internal memory, that can be easily coupled with many third party cloud storages to make sure you have hold of every snap clicked from this phone. The phone also comes with preloaded apps like “power booster and performance booster” which make sure that you can use the maximum juice of the battery without needing to constantly run to a charging point.
