What’s Trending: Web Series to Watch
Television remains gold as old but the new found love is the web series. We pick our favourites for the month.
Love Per Square
Language: Hindi
Genre: Romantic Comedy
Release Date: 14th February
Love Per Square Foot holds to the essence of a V-day release by featuring several indie jazz dance routines and the demure elements typical of a rom-com produced in Bollywood. The first of the six Netflix original films to be produced in India, the web series addresses how the unimaginably steep real estate prices in Mumbai pan out for the working-middle class. Bankers, Sanjay Chaturvedi (Vicky Kaushal) and Karina D’Souza (Angira Dhar) consent to a diplomatic marriage to secure a seat in a housing plan only to end up realizing the difference between a house and a home in an urban village. Reminiscent of the age old “everything happens for a reason” storyline, it is closer to reality than it lets on. Available on Netflix.
Breathe
Language: Hindi, Tamil, Telagu
Genre: Crime Thriller
Release date: 26th January
What do ordinary men do when faced with extraordinary circumstances?
Psychological thriller, Breathe deals with this question. Also being R Madhavan’s digital debut, the web series disperses the ever present romancing hero on screen and follows a protagonist as a fierce father-figure. It revolves around a father who struggles to save his son with a rare blood group. Seemingly unconnected deaths lead to unlikely suspects and the plot thickens beyond being predictable. The heavy-duty cat-and-mouse chase between the characters Danny (Madhavan) and Kabir (Amit Sadh) litter the narrative with pace and appropriate drama. Available on Amazon Prime Video.

Meanwhile evil sorcerer Trymon begins his quest for the ultimate power. As this comic drama unfurls, only this hapless pair and some unusual luggage can save the day.
Alexa and Katie
Genre: Comedy Language: English

This 13-episode Netflix Originals revolves around childhood best friends Alexa and Katie, who are awaiting the start of their freshman year of high school.
