From Merry Christmas to Captain Miller, look at movies that have Sankranti releases and decide who will be the winner of the box office clash.
As we embark on the new year, people are excited to see the new film, which gives them a great watching experience, and in the first month of 2024 itself, many films are lined up that will hit the big screen in the coming days. In between them, some movies will also see a clash at the box office. 12 January 2024 is the day that will be the day of clashes in Indian cinema, as 5 films will see the competition both in quality and quantity.
Clashes between the movies give you a chance to have a serious discussion about the movies as well, and it starts comparisons between film to film. On the other side, Clash gives a wide view of how one will see the film and what aspects can be considered while watching the movie. Here we come with the movies that are releasing on the same day and will clash with each other in theatres.
Guntur Kaaram (Telugu)
In the last few years, some films by Mahesh Babu have failed to impress the Critics. That’s why, despite having good box office collections, films like Maharshi, Sarileru Neekevvaru, and Sarkaru Vaari Paata have been critically unimpressed by the critics. His third collaboration with Trivikram Srinivas is set to release on the Sankranti weekend and is touted to be an action film that stars Ramya Krishnan, Jagapathi Babu, Prakash Raj, Jayaram, Meenakshi Chaudhary, Sreeleela, and Sunil.
After looking at the trailer, we can say that Guntur Kaaram will be fully action-packed with lots of emotions, comedy, a different character and style of Mahesh Babu compared to his other films, and a love-hate relationship between mother and son.
Merry Christmas (Hindi and Tamil)
After so many shifts in release dates, Merry Christmas will hit the big screen this weekend in two languages, namely Hindi and Tamil. If you have followed the trailer for the film, both trailers could have different endings with different star casts, and this makes the audience more curious about the film. The Hindi version stars Pratima Kannan, Sanjay Kapoor, Tinnu Anand, and Vinay Pathak.
The Tamil version stars Kevin Jay Babu, Radhika Sarathkumar, Rajesh Williams, and Shanmugaraja in the same roles as the Hindi version. Ashwini Kalsekar and Radhika Apte will be seen in cameos. It would be nice to watch Sriram Raghavan’s style of film again, with a fresh pairing of Katrina Kaif and Vijay Sethupathi.
Captain Miller (Tamil)
After watching one of the best trailers of 2024, we can say that Captain Miller will be worth watching in theatres. Captain Miller is set in the pre-independent era where Dacoit Eesa/Captain Miller (the character of Dhanush) fought against Britishers, and the central plot of the film also leaves you wondering how a simple living captain became a rebel and what the heartbreaking story behind it.
People are also rooting for the film because of the way the editor cut the trailer. You will really find the violence aesthetic. The only thing that made us worry was that it wouldn’t have a Telugu release where Dhanush has a strong fan base, and it would affect its collection at the box office.
Ayalaan (Tamil)
Ayalaan is an upcoming science fiction film that stars Sivakarthikeyan and Rakul Preet Singh with Isha Kopikar, Sharad Kelkar, Bhanupriya, Yogi Babu, Karunakaran, and Bala Saravanan, while Siddharth gives his voice to the character of Alien. After some successful ventures like Doctor, Don, and Maaveeran, Ayalaan will be the next venture for the actor. The only thing that is making us worry about the film is that it won’t be released in the North Belt, even after knowing that films like Ayalaan have the power to have a successful run in theatres.
Hanu Man (Telugu)
After the successful venture of Zombie Reddy, Prasanth Varma is making his comeback with Hanu Man, starring Teja Sajja, Amritha Aiyer, Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, and Vinay Rai. Hanu Man will be inspired by the Hindu God, who is going to be the first superhero film in Telugu cinema. The movie, which comes out before Adhira in the Prasanth Varma Cinematic Universe, is based in the made-up village of Anjanadri. The best part of this film is that Hanu Man will be originally released in Telugu but will also be dubbed in Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam, Hindi, English, Korean, Spanish, Chinese, and Japanese.
