5 Overrated Cafés and Restaurants in Delhi You Should Avoid

| | | 0 comments

While Delhi is the ultimate food paradise when it comes to food, some of the restaurants and cafes in the national capital have lost their spark along the way.

Undoubtedly Delhi is the ultimate paradise for every foodie with a vast variety of snacks, desserts, main course, chaat, and so much more. You name it and you have it. While there are a lot of places in the national capital that serve mouth-watering dishes to satisfy your craving, some of them are just not worth wasting your time and money. The Hindi saying ‘Unchi Dukan feeke pakwan’ suits the best for the below-mentioned cafes that serve nothing but disappointment and we are heartbroken. So, avoid these restaurants if you’re looking for some lip-smacking flavours.

Café Delhi Heights

overrated

The food of Cafe Delhi Heights is average and the service is quite slow.

A chain of cafes that once was a reliable choice for every Delhiite is not serving the way it used to. With different outlets in Delhi like Rajouri Garden, Janakpuri, Khan Market, and many more, Café Delhi Heights has become a place where you might not want to waste your time and money. The service is quite late and the taste of the food is just not worth the price you will be spending. Apart from the funky atmosphere of the café and the fancy names of the dishes, there is not much that the café can serve.

Ama Café

overrated

Ama Cafe is situated in Tibetan Market, Majnu Ka Tila.

A café in Majnu ka Tila that became a must-visit a few years back has lost its charm. The café sited in the Tibetan market is extremely famous for its cozy environment which you can enjoy only if you get a place to sit inside the café. Not sure if it is the system of the café or some other issue that people never get seating space at the place. Well, looking at the food on the menu, we hate to break it to you but there is nothing extra-ordinary. The café recently built a waiting area for customers because the daily wait period is between 45 and an hour. Not to mention, additional tables would have been a better idea.

Karim’s

overrated

Karims has been serving people for over a decade now but looks like the other places have better options and flavors to serve.

If you are planning to visit the lanes of Old Delhi to try some authentic chicken, kebabs, and nihari, we suggest you avoid this place. While Karim’s is one of the oldest gems in Old Delhi that has been serving people with its amazing food for over a decade, the place is not the same anymore as it has been losing its charm significantly. However, there are many restaurants near Karim’s which are serving some of the authentic delicacies in a much better way, like AL-Jawahar.

Saravana Bhawan

overrated

Saravana Bhawan is renowned for its authentic South Indian food which now has become just average.

While the cost of the so-called authentic food has doubled over time, we wish we could say the same about the taste of food. Over the years, the quality of the food has disappointed us as this was one of the most famous and everybody’s favorite places to visit whenever we wanted to have some good south Indian food.

Moti Mahal

overrated

The taste of the food at Moti Mahal is not the same as it used to be earlier.

Most renowned for its butter chicken, Moti Mahal is another one on the list of good old eateries of Old Delhi that has degraded over time. The quality of the food is not as same as it used to be earlier and we hate to break it to you, but other alternatives will serve you better butter chicken. To treat your plate palate.
