Halloween is just around the corners and this calls for spooky treats and costume parties. After you invite tons of guests to your party, you also become the in-charge of party games. When just Halloween decorations are not enough, you can turn to these amazing games that have a scary twist to them. Your guests won’t be alone and your party won’t be dead like the Halloween monsters.
This list of the 10 best Halloween party games has something for everyone. Choose your favourite game and get ready for a spooky Halloween this year.
1. Halloween Treasure Hunt
This is a classic Halloween game where the host hides a few things around the house and the guests have to search for them. People who find most objects win and the ones who don’t find anything lose. For a Halloween twist, you can hide scary things and make the hunt horrific. Add Halloween decorations and give it your personalized touch.
2. Guess the Gross Food
Guess the gross food is probably one of the spookiest Halloween games. You simply blindfold the player and make them guess which food or any other object they are touching. You can use all sorts of objects or food items here to make things scary. If the player guesses the object right, they win and if they cannot guess, they lose.
3. Corn Candy Game
Given that many guests would be dressed up as their favourite monsters for the party, this game becomes even more fun. For this game, ask your guests to pick up and eat the corn candy with their mouths without using their hands or legs. With their hands tied at back, they will have to bend over to grab the candy. People wearing masks or fake teeth as a part of their costume will have it tough but that’s the fun part, isn’t it?
4. Werewolf
Draw a card that tells you if you are a werewolf or a villager. Everyone closes their eyes and the person who is the werewolf kills a villager. The rest of the crowd has to identify the werewolf. This is a classic murder mystery game but works really well for Halloween as well. Your guests will get more comfortable with each other when you play this game.
5. I dare Halloween
Prepare a list of dares for the party. When you start playing, toss a bottle. The person who is selected has to complete a dare. It could be anything. From “scare a person” to “throw jelly on someone”. Get creative and add as much scary stuff as you can.
6. Everything Halloween
This game requires a little more intelligence than others. You get a pen and a paper. The host notes the time. In the given time, you have to write words related to Halloween starting with each alphabet. If you get the same words as the other player, you do not get the points for it. Be unique and creative.
7. Halloween guess who
This Halloween game is a great bonding moment for your guests. All you need to do as the host is to prepare cards with the names of different Halloween monsters on them. Guests will pick a card and without looking at it they will put them on their head. The other guests have to describe the traits of that monster to the players and if they guess right, they win. Easy-peasy right? to spice things up, you can choose some really tough names.
8. Scary hide and seek
It is classic hide and seek with a twist of Halloween. Players will hide in spooky places and the seeker will try to find them scarily. They can use Halloween props or monster costumes to make the players jump from their places. The one who is scared the most gets to be the next seeker. You can even add Halloween themed sound effects to make things horrific.
9. Halloween movie quotes game
The Halloween movie quotes game is ideal for those interested in horror films. It can be played in groups or collectively. You either draw a chit from a bowl and try to tell everyone which movie the quote belongs to without actually saying its name. or you can play in teams and give the quotes to the other team player to act out and guess. The player or the team who guesses the most movies wins.
10. The grave keeper
This is my personal favourite. All you need to do to play The Grave Keeper is to lie down on the floor and act dead. There will be a seeker called “the grave keeper” who will try to make your move. If he detects your eyes open, you are out. You can move only when the grave keeper is not looking. Your goal will be to stand up straight. If you successfully do so, you win and if you don’t you are out.
