Music: Songs That Shot in Just One Take

Music: From Dil Bechara to Gallan Goodiyaan, check out the list of the songs that were shot in just a single take and you never noticed this.

Hindi films are incomplete without melodious songs. Songs complete the whole film and take you inside the world of the film through which you also connect yourself and the situation from the songs. Everyone knows that filmmaking is complex to work on, but songs can also become complex sometimes and it especially happens when the song is going to be made in a single shot. One mistake and the song shot all from the beginning.

One-take songs give the whole song the utmost perfection as they show the dedication of the director, director of photography, cameraman, and the actors who are in front of the frame. This creativity brought respect for the whole unit that works on it. Today, where many directors and choreographers go for convenience and stress-free, some choreographers know the importance of perfect choreography and song.

Scroll down to know about those songs that were shot in just one take:-

Meri Jaan from Gangubai Kathiawadi

Meri Jaan was one of the best romantic songs of 2022 sung by Neeti Mohan and Sanjay Leela Bhansali. The whole song has its vibes and always feels fresh whenever you watch the whole sequence of Meri Jaan. The special part of this song is that there was no choreographer assigned to the song and it was shot in a straight sequence.

Apart from the one-take shot, the chemistry between Alia Bhatt and Shantanu Maheshwari adds more charm and treats you with mischievous romance through the songs. And how can anyone miss the yodeling of Neeti Mohan who lifts the song more at the end?

Dil Bechara Title song from Dil Bechara

Dil Bechara is the latest song that made its place in the list of the songs’ that shot in a single take. Dil Bechara’s title song was the introduction song for Sushant’s character that followed with the one take in the entire shot. Amitabh Bhattacharya wrote this title song and it was composed, arranged, and sung by A. R. Rahman.

Farah Khan choreographed the song for which she was awarded the Filmfare Award for ‘Best  Choreographer’ and it was the last song that was shot for the film. Unfortunately, it was the last movie of him where the audience captured the charming aura of Sushant Singh Rajput. In an interview, Farah Khan also stated that Sushant was a trained dancer and it felt smooth and easy while shooting the song with Sushant.

Chale Jaise Hawayein from Main Hoon Na

One of the most iconic songs of Bollywood that was shot in just one take and this song was also choreographed by Farah Khan. Farah was also the director of the film through which she was entering the director’s club. Chale Jaise Hawayein features Amrita Rao and Zayed Khan, sung by Vasundhara Das and K.K.

Raabta from Agent Vinod

Agent Vinod although did not perform well at the box office, gave us the song ‘Raabta’, which is again shot in a single take and revolves around the life and adventures of spies and agents. Raabta was the highlight of the film and became one of the most popular songs at the time of its release.

Even though it was only shot in one take, the picturization deserves praise because the actors and cameramen would have needed to use a unique technique to pull this off. The song which turned out to be one of the top 10 Hindi film songs released that year was later used in the Sushant and Kriti Sanon starrer Raabta composed by Pritam.

Gallan Goodiyaan from Dil Dhadakne Do

This Hindi-Punjabi mashup song from the film “Dil Dhadakne Do” gets everyone in the room dancing and celebrating cheerfully. The music video for this song was recorded aboard a ship in a single take, including all of the movie’s main characters partying and enjoying the song. In a subsequently released interview, the filmmaker revealed that certain scenes in the music video for that song were entirely real.

Special Mention:

Roop Tera Mastana (Aradhana)

Barso Ke Baad (Anjaam)

I want to make love to you (Aitraaz)

Sexy Baliye (Secret Superstar)

Ae chhori zara nach ke dikha (Cash)
