First Look of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Heeramandi Is Out!

A much-awaited Netflix series Heeramandi’s first look is unveiled on Thursday. The show is produced by well-known filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali and it also marks his OTT debut. Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar features Manisha Koirala, Sonakshi Sinha, Aditi Rao Hydari, Sanjeeda Sheikh, Sharmin Segal, and Richa Chadha in pivotal roles. The makers released the first poster of the show in 2023 which created the buzz among the audience. This year, they dropped the first look of the show on the internet that took by storm. The release date of the show is not announced yet.

The upcoming series Heeramandi has the signature touch of Bhansali such as an ensemble of phenomenal cast, a majestic grandeur set, and a compelling story. The story is about love, betrayal, and freedom in the courtesan’s lives in pre-independence India. Netflix and Bhansali Productions jointly posted the poster of the show last year, it reads “Heeramandi; where courtesans were queens”.

Heeramandi story sets in the 1940s, pre-independence India. In the first few seconds of the clip, we saw Manisha Koirala, Richa Chadha, Aditi Rao Hydari, Sharmin Segal, and Sanjeeda Sheikh dancing and happy with each other. And, the scene cuts to freedom fighters doing riots. Then, Sonakshi Sinha entered the show. As per netizens, Sonakshi will be going to play the antagonist. Richa Chadha was seen as the bride while Aditi Rao Hydari and Manisha Koirala were murdering someone. After watching the clip, all we can say that Heeramandi is going to be a roller-coaster ride of emotions.

As soon as the clip goes viral, the audience is very excited about the project. According to Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Heeramandi is the first-of-its-kind story of courtesans of Lahore, which is situated in Pakistan. Bhansali said, he is very nervous yet thrilled about making this show and sharing it with the audience. He further mentioned that the strong female characters are the pivot of any project for me.
