memories? Well, whatever the case may be, it is believed that people love their alcohol and sometimes more than anything. Talking about this beloved entity, Alcohol was actually founded in 7000 BC in China with the initiation of the Jiahu culture. According to some researchers, alcohol was previously used for only ritual purposes. Fermented drinks were quite as popular as they are today in ancient times too.

This is because of the distinctive character of cereals, water, and production methods in each country. Scotch, Irish, and Canadian whiskeys are some of the better know whiskeys all around the world. Usually stored in oak tree containers, the older the whiskey is in contact with the tree, the smoother it is. Literally meaning ‘water of life, whiskey is born as a beer. The main ingredient used in beer, wort, is also used in whiskeys.

Popularly known as the National alcoholic drink of Russia, Vodka was indeed discovered in Russia. As a matter of fact, 1 Litre of Vodka is lighter than 1L of water. Made from corn, rye, wheat, rice, and even fruit molasses, Vodka is the clearest distillate in the alcohol world. These grains are fermented and further processed with water and sometimes other flavourings which makes them quite tasty. It traces back to as early as 1405 in the Polish manuscripts where it is still loved as it was before. One area where nothing can defeat this drink is cocktails, vodka in cocktails is the best and refreshes you like nothing else.

Rum 

Referred to as the Golden Liquid by many, Rum is the winter’s best friend. Often there is a misconception that rum is only a winter’s drink, but it has not been confirmed by anyone that rum makes you hotter than any other alcoholic beverage. If we consider alcohol as a whole, then everything with alcohol inside will make you warm. It dates all the way back to 1605 and is mentioned in the manuscripts of Barbados. Most of the rum produced to date is from the Caribbeans and southern America. Earlier rum was also used in cooking and burning fossil fuels. It is preferable that you consume your rum without any ice or water; just neat. Just like whiskey, rum is also stored in oak barrels and made to be in contact with wood. It is made mainly from sugarcane or its molasses.

The juniper berry that Gin is associated with is not a berry at all, it just seems like one.
