The Battle of the Sexes: Why Women Prefer Male Bosses
A woman's insight into a man's world: the columnist who signs herself 'Peeping Mary' explains why women prefer male bosses.

Here I am having wanted to write for ever but doing it for the first time. So sue it I am just a bit nervous and unsure of the outcome.
I would like to set the record straight and tell all the women reading this column straight up that I dare not call them feminists, if that’s what they are, for fear that they will slam me and my kind (like minded women and not another gender) for defamation of the species! This is just my point of view. This column and the ones that follow are (says making doe eyes at the Editors) a woman’s insight into a man’s world- sometimes nice but most often not! Enjoy!

I come from the view that when you accept that we live in a gender unequal world life suddenly becomes so much easier to comprehend. To flog a dead horse cliché some more - John Gray was right when he said Men are from Mars and we are from Venus - galaxies apart!
Planets and proverbs aside, I don’t know what happens in villages and the demographics mostly described as B and C class towns but my universe albeit somewhat myopic is all of Delhi and Bombay where corporate India is housed. In this universe, I am asked to write about a question researchers worldwide have not been able to crack with a conclusive answer. The question; “Why do women prefer male bosses?” Here I am agreeing with the question and saying for sure we do.
You think Male Boss and immediately a Mills & Boon story pops to mind of the office romance turned true love forever! Or is it that Mills & Boon was inspired by what really happened earlier in the 20th century when women decided to become career girls and fight on a lop-sided playing field?
Ask this question before you agree to agree or disagree with me.
Is your boss a man to you or is he a vessel for your pay check and related advantages?
If the answer is “he is first a man to me”- I say hats off to you woman! Don’t let what happened to Devidar get you down. Make way for a brilliant future by luring this man to your bed and other places; being sick and tired of just an office romp and then move on to do the same with another boss. Job hopping will have to become your way of life. For you, the answer to our question of the day is implied. Just remember, try to be somewhat good at the job HR hired you for as well- after all you need to cover your tracks honey! You don’t want to be labelled the slut who slept her way to amazing success! And please do yourself a favour and don’t fear judgment because it is a decision you took in the first place!
If however you’re answer is the politically correct, practical or realistic one then why do you prefer male bosses? Here are some of my answers that emanate from the law of averages- simple math! Feel free to disagree with me.
My boss strongest
1. Men are infinitely more decisive- it’s unmanly to vacillate!
2. Women tend to compete with other women no matter at what level they are. Imagine having to compete with the boss and as trainee - there is no road up- it’s only downhill without brakes!
3. Women manipulate better to know what the man is thinking and plan their next move
4. Men are emotionally unintelligent and don’t get it enough to manipulate women emotionally!
5. Women suffer from mood Swings which men let slip for fear of turbulence-A woman wouldn’t let it pass for sure. They want to be men and not empathetic!
The softer reasons for why you want a male boss over a woman and you love them for it?
6. He will tell you look good even when you know you don’t –just to be on your good side but who cares!
7. He sympathizes with your cramps and says its okay to work from home-he’s seen his girlfriend in pain and wants to be far from it.
8. When you cry he leaves you alone - the women rush over and make a scene-god NO!
9. When he knows you have a crush on him, he’s nicer to you because then you work harder to impress him at work.
To the women bosses, I say, “ C’mon Woman Be a Man!”
I am yours truly- the only ‘Peeping Mary’
