On popular demand: Enola Holmes and Euphoria reviewed
Netflix's Enola Holmes with Millie Bobby Brown starts with promise but lets you down, while HBO's Euphoria earns Zendaya her Emmy with its portrayal of a teenager on the edge.

We bring you the analysis of much talked about webseries and movie of the month!
Enola Holmes (Netflix)
We are used to seeing Millie Bobby Brown playing the powerful mutant in Stranger Things, but in this Nancy Springer’s The Case of the Missing Marquess adaptation we see her owning the detective/spy genre. The cast ensemble in the movie is nothing short of perfection.

Sam Clafin and Henry Cavil play the Holmes brothers (Mycroft and Sherlock) and look surprisingly identical. Helena Bonham Carter plays the role of Eudoria Holmes and like always, steals the show with her impeccable acting skills. The first half of the movie starts with a lot of promise, hinting at a big reveal in the end but unfortunately the second half fails to deliver that. For a movie based on the adventures of Enola Holmes, there is hardly any exciting adventure led by her. The narrative doesn’t fully support the characters and makes them seem dull at the end. One of the characters played by Fiona Shaw seems too forced to come off as an organic one. The hype around Enola Holmes, makes us look forward to the exciting story of Springer’s Enola Holmes, a fictional character but eventually lets us down with its substandard plot.
Euphoria (HBO)

There is no shortage of high-school dramas on the web. In fact, this genre is one of the most watched on any OTT platform. Then why has Euphoria gained so much special attention? Because of its hard hitting portrayal of a teenage girl living on the edge. The way Zendaya plays the complicated character of Rue, the lead, she deserved the Emmy award she won recently. Adults love to blame millennial and Gen Z kids for falling for drugs, but Euphoria shows the reality why some kids really fall for them. Rue, a 16-year-old has long been suffering from anxiety and depression and the only way she can silence the screaming voices in her head is by doing drugs. In doing so, she lets down her family and carries the weight of their disappointment. In addition to everything going in the 16-year-old girl’s life is a complicated love affair. The series doesn’t limit itself to the lead character’s life, it also introduces us to the other characters and the different shades of them.
