The trailer of the Selfie movie is out on Sunday. This action-comedy movie is a complete pack of drama, comedy, and action and the “Main Khiladi Tu Anari” song leaves you a bit nostalgic.
The trailer of Akshay Kumar and Emraan Hashmi starrer’s much-awaited movie Selfie was dropped on Sunday. This action-comedy movie also stars Diana Penty and Nushratt Bharuccha and is directed by Raj Mehta. This film will hit theatres on 24 February 2023. GoodNews fame director Raj Mehta once again takes his audience on a roller-coaster ride of emotions.
These two Bollywood stars are sharing the screen for the first time. Their fans have waited for a glimpse of the movie ever since it was announced and after watching the trailer fans were very impressed and waiting to see this duo on screen. This movie is all about a faceoff between a Superstar and Superfan.

The trailer starts with the entry of Akshay Kumar who is seen as a superstar Vijay. Superstar Vijay is attempting a stunt along with his female co-star Mrunal Thakur and later, he talks about his busy schedule (doing 4 films, out of which 2 are for OTT, and 27 commercials, reality shows, and live events) and also talks about his love for driving. After hearing all these things, it feels like Khiladi Kumar is talking about his real life in reel life.
Then we cut to Om Prakash (Emraan Hashmi) who is an RTO officer and he and his son are superfans of Vijay. Their biggest dream is to take a selfie with their superstar. When his wife (Nushrat Bharuccha) speaks against his idol, he warns her that he will divorce her if he speaks against the superstar Vijay.

And thus the opportunity comes to Om Prakash to meet his idol, and he took it. However, things take an ugly turn over Vijay’s driving license. Superstar Vijay humiliates him in front of his son. After this Vijay and Om Prakash, both challenge each other, and the war between Superstar Vs Superfan starts. While Vijay says he will get his driving license anyhow and on the other hand, Om Prakash says that Vijay will have to get documents like any common man.
Overall, the trailer gives a sneak-peak at this full of an emotional roller-coaster ride. This movie has all action, drama, emotional scenes and comedy as well and the “Main Khiladi Tu Anari” song in the background leaves you a bit nostalgic. The original track is from 1994, Akshay Kumar and Saif Ali Khan starrer movie of the same name. Sadly, both of the actresses don’t have much to do, as far as we saw in the trailer.

Their fans are quite impressed with the trailer, after all, seeing Akshay in a comedy movie is a kinda treat for his fans. His comic timing and one-liners are just epic. However, Emraan Hashmi does really justice with his character. All we can say is that he steals the show. His emotional stability, subtle expressions, father-son bond, and rivalry between a star and a fan, all make the audience impressed.
Selfie movie is a Hindi remake of the 2019, Malayalam movie Driving License directed by Lal Jr. It featured Suraj Venjaramodu and Prithviraj Sukumaran. However, audience expectations are very high for the Selfie movie as it’s Akshay’s first release of 2023, after a very disappointing 2022 for Bollywood. The actor’s many big-budget movies failed to impress the audience and flopped at the box office.
