Srk-Deepika’s Starrer Film “Pathaan” Is Unstoppable At The Box Office

Shahrukh Khan’s much-anticipated movie Pathaan is breaking all records and becoming the first blockbuster movie of 2023.

Shahrukh Khan’s starring film Pathaan not only broke many records but also created some ever since it was released on 25 January. It has been a while since Bollywood had a blockbuster movie as the past year was not the best year for Bollywood. Only a few films managed to bring numbers to the box office. Siddharth Anand’s directed film Pathaan become the first Bollywood film of this year which became a blockbuster.

Siddharth Anand’s action-thriller film Pathaan stars Shahrukh Khan, Deepika Padukone and John Abraham in the lead roles alongside Dimple Kapadia and Ashutosh Rana in pivotal roles. This spy thriller movie first broke the advance ticket booking record then it became the only Hindi film to breach Rs.55 crore on Day 1 and become the top film with the highest earning on the non-holiday opener. Then, it went to cross Rs.100 crore on the 2nd day, which was Republic Day. 

Needless to say, this film had the highest collection for a Hindi film on Day 2. On day 3, Friday, the film managed to earn 35-36 crore, the reason for the drop in figures was likely because of the working day. It is expected that the movie collection will rise in the upcoming weekend. The movie’s three-day collection is approx Rs.160 crore and grossed 216.6 crores worldwide.

The movie is about a spy on a mission. The story revolves around an ex-army man Pathaan (Shahrukh Khan) who becomes an undercover agent and gets caught on a mission. He has now returned to save his country from enemies. John Abraham plays the role of former RAW agent Jim, who has turned rogue after he got betrayed by his own people. In the movie, the character of John Abraham is introduced with a solid back story.

Deepika Padukone plays the role of an ex-ISI agent Rubia who becomes part of the mission but her loyalties are questioned several times. Last but not least, there is a cameo of Salman Khan as a Tiger. All of their fans go gaga over that scene, the crowd starts hooting, screaming, and whistling during the Tiger (Salman Khan) entry and both of the superstars perform the action sequence together. The film was shot in many picturesque locations that sometimes distract you from the actual action. We all have seen Shahrukh as a romantic hero but Pathaan proves that he’s the king of action too.

The movie seems a tad stretched in the 2nd half. Some dialogues make you laugh but overall, the writing isn’t impressive which leaves a mark. The movie is high on the action if you don’t question the logic behind the gravity-defying action scenes and also sometimes you feel the VFX work was not done properly. Overall, you can watch Pathaan, it’s a fun and fantastic movie at the same time and Seeing two superstars of Bollywood together in one frame after a decade in an action movie is nothing short of a celebration for their fans.
