Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone once again made India proud as she became the first Indian actress to attend the 77th British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) Awards. She marked her presence at the ceremony as one of the presenters. The awards ceremony took place in London’s Royal Festival Hall on 18 February. The actress presented the award for the “Best Film Not in the English Language” category which was won by filmmaker Jonathan Glazer for “The Zone of Interest”.

Deepika Padukone spread her charm at the BAFTA awards but what touched everyone’s hearts was how she chose to embrace her roots. She wore a saree a golden and silver-hued shimmering saree with a matching strappy blouse by Sabyasachi. If you are an Om Shanti Om fan, you’d be reminded of Shanti Priya walking the red carpet. She accessorized her look with small dangling earrings and heels. Deepika opted for minimal makeup and a fuzzy bun. Her entire look was mesmerizing.

Her fans filled the comment section with so much positivity. One of the fans commented “Indian Princess”, and another wrote “Ethereal”. This isn’t her first foray onto the international stage. 

Besides this, Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer marked another victory at the BAFTA 2024 as the movie bagged seven awards including Best Film, Best Director, and Best Leading Actor. Emma Stone’s starrer in “Poor Things” was another winner that bagged five awards including Best Actress. Earlier, Emma Stone won the BAFTA awards in the same category for “La La Land” in 2017.
