Adipurush Teaser: Lack of VFX Class in Movie starring Prabhas And Saif Ali Khan upsets viewers

Here is a sneak peek at the most anticipated movie of 2023, a mythology epic starring Prabhas, Saif Ali Khan, and Kriti Sanon.

With Bollywood’s attempt to introduce great VFX and cinematic universe experience to Indian cinema, the expectation of the audience has elevated. Uniting the craft of some of the most talented individuals in the industry, the teaser of ‘Adipurush’ was released by the makers yesterday. Starring Prabhas, Kriti Sanon, and Saif Ali Khan in the lead roles, the movie is one of the most-anticipated ones in Indian cinema for the upcoming year. Helmed by Om Raut, ‘Adipurush’ is an attempt to showcase ‘Ramayana’ by Valmiki from the makers’ perspective.

A luxury timepiece is a must-have for every man.

The movie is based on Ramayana, which is a 7,000 years old important legend in Hindu mythology and is known as the itihas (history) of Lord Rama. In the movie, Prabhas’ character is called Raghav, which is another name for Ram. The teaser of Adipurush begins showing Prabhas as Lord Rama, who is seen meditating underwater while demons are spiraling up from all around. It is when Rama aims to eliminate the demons that we get the first glimpse of Lankesh (Raavana) with blue eyes, played by Saif Ali Khan, who is chanting and praying atop a mountain peak.

Prabhas is seen on the battle field with demons, playing the role of Rama.

Other than this, we can see a glimpse of Kriti Sanon, playing the role of Janaki, the daughter of King Janak. In other segments, we can see Lankesh riding a demon monster into the field of battle and threatening a woman with his 10 heads. On the other hand, as we’ve seen in the Ramayana, Rama can be seen uniting his army (vaanar sena) along with Hanuman and Laxman.

The visuals and VFX of the movie have disappointed the audience.

In the in-between scenes of the battlefield, we can see the combat situation between the avatar sena and the demons. And we hate to break it to you, but it looks unsatisfactory. While in the beginning, Prabhas’s character can be seen narrating how justice and truth will always triumph over injustice and evil, we hope the performance by the star cast can triumph the ‘not up to the scratch’ VFX and CGI of this movie.

In the teaser, a glimpse of Kriti Sanon playing the role of Janki can be seen.

The rough edges are visible in every shot since it has the appearance of a cartoon movie produced on a tight budget. Hopefully, the problems will be resolved by the time Adipurush, a big-screen spectacular, premieres. In fact, many people would recall the animated version of the Ramayan, ‘Ramayana: The Legend of Ram’, which debuted in the 2000s and felt far more polished than this. The poor quality of the teaser lessens the emotional impact of such big of a story as well.

Saif Ali Khan can be seen in the role of Lankesh, but the look has not impressed many.

Other than the inferior visual effects of the movie, what gives the audience a sigh of relief is the background music of the movie and the trio of actors coming together on screen for the first time. Kriti and Prabhas were recently spotted having a lot of chemistry while attending movie promotional events, and the connection between the two co-stars has compelled the audience to keep watching more of this pair. Adipurush will make its way on the big screens on January 12, 2023.
